We had the good fortune of connecting with Corey Bell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Corey, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
My favorite quote, “The future rewards those who press on. I don’t have time to feel sorry for myself. I don’t have time to complain. I’m going to press on.”~ Barack Obama

This affirmation and/or quote is one of many inspirations to me. It’s a reminder to stay focused, be intentional and continue in forward motion.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Corey Bell Ministries is a 501-c3 para-ministry, based in Maryland. Our focus is to reach the lost and forgotten. The ministry acts as a catalyst who empowers and encourages those without a voice to arise and dominate. Corey Bell Ministries has a heart for God and his people. Since the inception, Corey Bell Ministries has been active in the local community; donating goods, sponsoring and creating a virtual platform for emerging leaders/small business owners.

As the founder and CEO starting this ministry has had it’s challenges. I had to come to grips with my own God-given purpose, stepping away from apprehensions and embracing my destiny. It was indeed a scary, anxiety provoking process but there’s been great rewards as well. I may sound a little churchy when I say this but, I learned “to trust the process” and “align with God quickly”. I want the world to know you matter, God sees you, you have a purpose, and the space you occupy in this world is given to you for a reason, make every second of your life count. Corey Bell Ministries is just a reminder echoing those sentiments.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
This should be interesting; So I live in the DMV and we’re known for our seafood, specifically great crab cakes.. Here in the DMV are a lot of great museums also. So, the itinerary would be inclusive of dining at some of the best restaurants that serve the best seafood, trips to the museums and I guess some bowling and go-karting just to throw a little fun in there lol.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
