We had the good fortune of connecting with Christopher Garofalo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Christopher, why did you pursue a creative career?
I always knew that I would end up doing something artistic and creative for a living. Whether it was being a drummer in a rock band, a fine artist, or a film maker. I couldn’t image doing anything else.
What should our readers know about your business?
It has been a long and incredible journey to where my business is today. In 2002 I went to film school and started working on movie sets doing camera and lighting. In 2007 I took a job as a videographer doing corporate videos but then the crash of 2008 hit and I got laid off with half of the company’s staff. This turned out to be a major shift in my career. I started my own production company doing video and photography for mostly real estate investors. This turned out to be very lucrative because that industry had not seen cinematic level video so I became “the guy” that shoots everyone’s videos. I started shooting highlight videos for events and I had several regular clients asking if I provided the whole audio video services for event. So I decided to take the plunge and invest in the needed gear to provide the complete event package. And that’s how Katana AV was born…
Katana AV is a cutting edge audio, video, and photo company and a game changer in the events industry. Our cinematic filming, lighting, and sound helps to create an engaging and interactive experience. Thanks to our many years of experience and state-of-the-art equipment, we have become a must-have service for event planners looking to enhance the overall attendee experience.
I believe that the best events are the ones where you barely notice the AV team and our “Event Ninjas” are highly trained professionals who specialize in stealthy event execution. They manage logistics and coordinate with your team to keep your event running smoothly, so you can focus on creating the best experience for your attendees. Leaving the execution to the experts allows for a seamless event.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Ponce City Market, The Georgia Aquarium, Bistro Niko in Buckhead, Eight Sushi Lounge, Onewheeling on the Beltline, The Plaza Theatre
