We had the good fortune of connecting with Chink Lee and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chink, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
Making the job not feel like a job at all. I love what I do and o truly could not see me doing anything else.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’ve studied the art of hip hop for years , past history , current times and what makes to come. I learned in prefer to make an ima is that and stay relevant you must truly stand out authentically and be yourself. I want the words on d to know that I can’t be put in a box , and whatever I apply myself to I can be great at.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We’d start off in Harlem, walk around 125th for a bit. After we’d probably get hungry and hit up Caribbean Star and get some Jamaican food, Oxtails with the rice and peas with cabbage, nice ice tea to wash it down. Then we’d head to Soho or the Lower Eastside and walk around and check what they got in the clothing shops.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
SMVEOnFridays deserves credit. We both envisioned this together and I would t be here without him.
