Meet Chelsea Dolphin | Content Creator and Voice Actor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Chelsea Dolphin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chelsea, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
My work/life balance has changed drastically over the years of being a content creator. I used to be able to clock into my regular job, do what was asked of me, then go home. Now, I feel like I am constantly working. I follow trends, post and edit daily, and my brain is always coming up with the next thing I need to do. I experience burnout quite often. But it’s my own fault. I get into streaks of productivity that can last for months just to suddenly hit a wall and crash. I’ve picked up a healthier habit to manage my work life balance recently which is sticking to a strict schedule that not only includes film/edit days, but downtime as well. Breaks whether big or small matter.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Besides a content creator and livestreamer, I am also an entry-level Voice Actor. I’ve done more in the content creator space than I ever thought I would. I’ve hosted for BlackGirlGamers with Rufflez and AfroPunk, interviewed indie game developers during the Dames4Games Showcase, participated in panels at gaming conventions, worked with some of my favorite companies and so on. As a person who struggles with anxiety daily, everything I listed is a huge accomplishment to me. It was not easy, but having a great support system helps tremendously. Therapy, friends in the gaming/entertainment space, and peace at home.
What I would want the world to know about me is that I jump into everything head first! From the moment I think “hey this looks fun/cool I want that!” I claim it and immediately hop on the path to achieving it. It’s scary! But a fun way to live life.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I tell all my long distance friends that the number one thing we’re doing when they come into town is going straight to Korean BBQ! It’s delicious, fun, and brings people together. I love introducing people to it. After that, I usually spend the rest of the day playing video games with them or digesting all the bbq we just ate! If they’re staying the entire week, we’re hitting up all the tasty food spots. I usually find a new one every week via TikTok so unfortunately I don’t have and specific places to list. As you can see, I love food.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Immediately, my brain goes to my husband Ramel. He is my best friend, my biggest supporter, my number one fan, and I would not be where I am on this journey without him. On the days I felt like I was making a life-ruining choice to switch careers, or simply doubted myself, he was and still is always there to lift me up with encouragement, praise and motivation. Next to him, I would say everyone who enjoys my content, streams, and work in general. Thank you! I appreciate you more than you could ever know.
