We had the good fortune of connecting with Celebrity Brenea Murphy and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Celebrity Brenea, what’s your definition for success?
For me success has evolved over the years. At one point I measured it by sales, recognition, and business milestones. Today, I define success by resilience, peace, and the impact I have on others.

Success is waking up every day with purpose, knowing that no matter what life throws at me. I have the strength to keep moving forward. It’s being able to provide for my family, build a legacy through my businesses, and inspire other women to believe that setbacks don’t have to define their future.

I’ve experienced seasons of growth and seasons of rebuilding. Those challenges taught me that success isn’t about never falling it’s about getting back up every single time. Every obstacle has shaped me into a stronger entrepreneur, mother, and leader.

If I can look back and know I stayed true to who I am, helped someone else along the way, and left every chapter of my life better than I found it, that’s success to me.

What should our readers know about your business?
Celebrity Luxury Hair was built on one simple belief every woman deserves to feel confident, beautiful, and empowered. When I launched the company in 2012, I wasn’t backed by investors or a big team I simply had a vision, a strong work ethic, and the determination to create a brand that women could trust.

What sets us apart is that we don’t just sell hair we build confidence. Every product we offer is something I’d proudly wear myself, and every customer is treated like family. I’ve always believed that genuine relationships matter more than transactions, and I think that’s one of the reasons customers have continued to support my brand for more than a decade.

The journey definitely wasn’t easy. Like many small business owners, I experienced incredible highs and unexpected lows. The pandemic changed the beauty industry, and life brought its own personal challenges, including a serious truck accident that affected my son’s health, finances, and business. There were moments when I questioned everything, but I refused to let those setbacks define me. Instead of giving up. I chose to rebuild one day, one customer, and one goal at a time.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that success isn’t about avoiding failure it’s about having the courage to keep going. Entrepreneurship requires resilience, faith, and the willingness to adapt. Every obstacle I’ve faced has made me a stronger businesswoman and a better leader.

Today I’m more excited than ever about the future. I’m continuing to grow Celebrity Luxury Hair while also expanding my personal brand, sharing my journey to inspire other entrepreneurs to keep believing in themselves even when the road gets difficult.

More than anything I want people to know that my story isn’t one of overnight success. It’s a story of perseverance, reinvention, and refusing to quit. If my journey encourages even one person to chase their dreams despite life’s setbacks, then I’ve accomplished something far greater than building a successful business I’ve made an impact.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend came to Atlanta for a week, we’d have the perfect mix of food, fun, culture, and a little luxury.

We’d start with brunch a Toast on Lenox Atlanta knows how to do brunch. After that we would spend the afternoon at the Atlanta Belt Line, walking, people watching, stopping at local shops, grabbing dessert, and taking pictures along the murals.

One day would definitely be dedicated to shopping at Lenox Square and Phipps Plaza because I love fashion, beauty, and finding new pieces. We’d end the evening with dinner at Hals steakhouses or Wagyu House Atlanta a rooftop restaurants with a skyline view.

Another day would be all about exploring the city. We’d visit the Georgia Aquarium, the High Museum of Art, and Centennial Olympic Park before catching a game or a concert if something exciting was happening in town.

For nightlife I’d take them to one of Atlanta’s rooftop lounges. The city comes alive at night, and there’s always somewhere with great music, good food, and an amazing atmosphere.

Of course, no visit would be complete without experiencing the incredible diversity of Atlanta’s food scene. From Southern comfort food and barbecue to international cuisine, the city truly has something for everyone.

To slow things down, we’d spend a relaxing day at the spa followed by a little self care and, naturally, a fresh install or wig from Celebrity Luxury Hair because looking good is part of the experience.

What I love most about Atlanta is that it’s constantly evolving. It’s a city full of entrepreneurs, creatives, entertainers, and people chasing big dreams. Whether you’re visiting for the first time or you’ve lived here for years, there’s always something new to discover. That’s what makes Atlanta such a special place to call home.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost I have to thank GOD without him I am nothing. Next is my parents bot respected entrepreneurs in their fields. They raised me, believed in me, and taught me the value of hard work, resilience, and never giving up. Their sacrifices laid the foundation for the woman and entrepreneur I am today.

I also want to recognize my son, Bryce. He has been one of my biggest motivations. Everything I build, every obstacle I overcome, and every goal I chase is driven by the desire to create a legacy that he can be proud of. Watching him grow into an incredible young man inspires me to keep pushing, even on the difficult days.

I’d also like to thank my loyal customers and supporters. Some have been with Celebrity Luxury Hair for well over a decade. They’ve trusted my brand, referred others, and continued to support me through every chapter. Their loyalty has meant more than they’ll ever know.

Finally, I want to give credit to every entrepreneur who has shared knowledge, offered encouragement, or simply reminded me that setbacks are temporary. Building a business can feel lonely at times, but the community of people who choose to uplift rather than compete has been invaluable.

None of us reaches success completely on our own. Behind every accomplishment is a network of people who believed in us, prayed for us, encouraged us, challenged us, or simply refused to let us quit. I’m grateful for every person who has been part of my journey.
