We had the good fortune of connecting with Chauntae Marable and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chauntae, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Longevity and being ‘RecessionProof’! With the impact of Covid-19 I found myself furloughed with no backup plan. This was the 2nd time in 2 years that a company had the ability to do that to me. I immediately knew I had to generate income outside of having a job. I thought about my hobbies, talents and hustles trying to decide which one made the most sense. I’ve been dabbling in natural and holistic care for years so it was a no brainer for me to start with body care. I like that the ingredients are all natural so I know exactly what’s going into my body. It’s also great for sensitive skin as well.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Having my body care line gives me structure and something to look forward to when I’m coming home. I love working with my hands and creating magic! I want my brand to speak for itself. I have all of your after bath routine covered from body butter to candles. All designed to relax and promote a chill environment. I’d want the world to know that I am a small business owner with determination and I’m not afraid of the future anymore. Creating is my passion and I won’t be satisfied until I’m on their bathroom shelves. All of my products are handmade by me using natural ingredients. I can custom design any of my products to fit my clients needs. Getting started has not been easy. There’s so much research to do regarding skincare and what products to use for different types of skin. I get pleasure from learning more about my craft as I immerse myself in it.

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
If my best friend were visiting our itinerary would be packed with all the things foodies like to do. I’d take her to some of the historical restaurants in the city and mix in some of the newer urban places with delicious and eclectic food and vibes. I like to relax… a lot! If I had to create a visitor guide I’d include many of the parks and trails I like to hike. I’d make sure they visited the Atlanta native tourists attractions “for the culture” and suggest little gems along the way for photo ops, quiet moments and overall relaxation.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my mother and grandmother who have both passed. The two were the epitome of hard working, patient, kind and good people. I’d also like to dedicate it to my circle. Thank you all for allowing me to always bounce ideas off of you and for always giving me great advice and honest feedback – Nadirah, Antares, Erica, KJ
