We had the good fortune of connecting with Brianne Buck and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brianne, what do you want people to remember about you?
I want my legacy to be one of inspiration. Although life has thrown many curve balls, I managed to follow my impulses and move strongly towards my goals. I want to be remembered as someone who made a positive impact and constantly strived to help others in some small way. Whether it’s helping brands reach their full potential or creating meal prep solutions to make lives easier, I want people to know that I stood by my ideals with passion and conviction.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What started as a hobby during the pandemic, quickly turned into something bigger once I learned how to scale. Starting a meal prep company happened fast for me! With some encouragement from friends, I decided to launch Relish not only to fulfill a need but also bring value to people. The goal was to provide a service to help working professionals/people on-the-go take the guesswork out of meal planning and preparation. My vision for the business is to be a purpose-driven and nutritious meal prep service that’s committed to exceptional customer service. What sets us apart from our competitors is that we offer different flavorful options every week. Say goodbye to boring meals!

Not only do I keep Relish afloat, I also have a full-time job as a Marketing Manager for a leading telecom company. So, an important decision I had to make was hiring the right team for Relish so that I could balance both. When I first launched, I was preparing meals alone. Eventually, the demand for meals became overwhelming and I did not have the bandwidth to keep up. Thanks to Brandon Whatley, Margaret Hughley, and Katrice Buck, I can now take in more orders and strategically plan for the future. It’s great to have a team that shares the same passion and creativity!

I’ve always been a creative! For as long as I can remember I’ve been drawn to art, innovation, and expression. I just couldn’t quite place where I would end up professionally. My desire to constantly work on projects, branding, and design led me to a career in marketing, but my newfound love for cooking brought me to entrepreneurship. Being a self-taught cook allows me to tap another level of my artistic side. I’m constantly experimenting with flavors and trying new cuisines for inspiration. What keeps me motivated in this space is the positive feedback I get from my clients and knowing that I’m solving a problem in some small way. I work to see my ideas and systems translated into realities.

As far as challenges are concerned, the most difficult decision I’ve had to make was deciding whether to expand the business. To be honest, it is still something I’m constantly thinking about. Thoughts of investing in property, hiring more team members, shipping, and outsourcing run constantly through my mind. Sometimes keeping the business small may seem to be the right answer because it’s more manageable. However, I’ve learned through this process that the greater the risk, the greater the reward. I am excited for what is next!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Yes! I want to give credit to my Relish team- Brandon Whatley, Margaret Hughley, and Katrice Buck.

I also want to thank the trainers at the Fit Spot for promoting my business and express my gratitude to anyone who has purchased meals from us.
