We had the good fortune of connecting with Ayinde Sings and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ayinde, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I had my hands in many things on the music side of things but I also knew that I could turn that into a business. I wanted to create something that would be financially stable while also fulfilling my dreams of performing, producing, and writing music. Currently my band Sings and Company is performing, Mimosa Jam Atl is the hottest brunch is the city, and I am currently also performing individually as well.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Quarantine 2020 brought the world to a stand still. The entertainment community has struggling. However the virtual world opened up and it seemed like live shows via social media were the wave. Me and my brother Donkor “Condo” Al-Amin received many requests and we decided to create something for the people. Mimosa Jam Atl our newest business venture was born. We started out virtually performing live parties featuring ourselves David “Show-tyme” Holmes and DJ Marco Atl. The response grew so quickly that we had people from all over the country tuning in on a weekly basis. I had a conversation with Ebony Akira the owner of Nouveau Bar and Grill about what we were doing and we both agreed that it would be great to bring Mimosa Jam Atl to Sunday Brunch. Our first live show was in June of last year and we will be celebrating 1 year on June 13th of this year. We are excited about the growth of our brand which gives people a high energy, entertaining, experience unlike any other. You can see all the action in person on Sundays at Nouveau or you follow us on instagram @Mimosajamatl

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Some of my favorite spots are Nouveau Bar and Grill, Ponce City Roof, Intermezzos, and Sage Wood Fire Grill

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My parents Kuzuri and Tauheedah Al-Amin paved the way for me to be able to work in my field and my brother and sister Donkor and Jahmila Al-Amin have supported me since day one. I would like to this shout out for two amazing black women who have thriving businesses in Atlanta and have been great partners of mine for years. Jai Mclendon Jones, owner and creative director for AREA (Atlanta’s Resource for Entertainment and Arts) and Ebony Akira owner Nouveau Bar & Grill. These women represent excellence in business, financial independence, building relationships, and giving back to the community. It’s my honor to have worked with them and achieved success and I am looking forward to doing so for many years to come.
