We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashton Joseph and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashton, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Creativity has always been in me. I will be honest I do think that earlier on in my life between navigating I life as an adult and working a 9-5 I submerged my creativity for many years out of college. Due to the wonderful advancement of technology I started to look at the world with a different eye taking pictures on my phone which led to getting a professional camera doing photography.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am still growing professionally there is a quote I came across that says “always a student” I think that applies to many areas in my life. No this journey has not been easy it’s definitely a process that requires a lot of patience and believing in one’s self. Lessons I have learned along the way would be to have patience, faith, and people are only going to take your business as serious as you do.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Some of my favorite spots in the city are the beltline, piedmont park, the pounce city market area.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Definitely my family and friends who have all been so supportive and encouraging during this journey. Followed by tapping in with many other creative’s in the photography community too many to name. But I will shout out Crewthick ATL they where the first group of photographers that welcomed me to join weekly meet ups in the city. That expanded my creativity tremendously.
