We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashanti RaShae & Jasmine Olivia and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ashanti RaShae & Jasmine Olivia, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Definitely consistency! Once you grow an audience people look forward to hearing a podcast every week, so making sure we have episodes weekly is very important.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Our podcast is a genuine connection between two young black women navigating through work, love, and just life itself. Our listeners get to grow with us each week and that is so special. Starting and maintaining a podcast has not been easy. We have had to make sacrifices, learn new techniques, and literally learn a completely new industry, but we both believe in the potential that our show has so that’s what keeps up pushing forward. We’ve learned some valuable lessons along the way such as money management, planning events, and coordinating with other creatives. We want the world to know that this is only the beginning for Girl Guess What Podcast, so tune in now!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Birmingham has a lot of gems to unturn. If you want a good time with good drinks, good food & good people, definitely check out Bizarre the Coffee Bar located downtown. On Wednesdays, they have live karaoke so that’s always a good time. Jasmine and I both love hookah, so anywhere we can grab some hookah is an option as well.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Our listeners. Thank you for pressing play every week, whether it’s your first or last time. Thank you!
