We had the good fortune of connecting with Aranthza Fenimore and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aranthza, we’d love to hear more about your end-goal, professionally.
I started Tea Leaf Consulting Co. aka Tea Planet as a business for the communities that surround me and others. All of my actions will lead me to be able to help people come together as one. Tea is more than a beverage, it is a way of life known as Cha Dao. I have dedicated my life to using tea as a tool to help all communities at the end of the day, whether it be by using my platform to elevate voices, advocate for organizations that make change happen, and promoting a positive lifestyle that will cause change with personal actions. Professionally my goals are to guide businesses and individuals in the world of tea. This will help grow the tea community and I believe more positive interactions between people. I feel like we have forgotten that we are all human and incorporating tea in your everyday life helps with meditation, self-awareness, mindfulness, and kindness. My business will allow me to have the power to create action for those in need in all aspects.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I fell into my career, really I made it come alive. I started working with tea in 2016. I did not realize that it would become such a big part of my life. It changed my life. I realized after 3 months or so that it was my calling and that was it. I did not know how I was going to make it a career and with time I manifested teaching tea classes online, in person, and being a consultant to tea businesses that want to open in the Southeast. There have been more battles internally than externally when it came to creating my business. I overcame them by meditating, saying affirmations, and being true to me. Fear is a big monster that was stopping me from making decisions that needed to be made and honestly once I started believing in myself, it slowly became smaller. For the world, I would like them to know that life is beautiful and we all need to start taking our power back by making the right decisions. Do your research and make things happen. We are all leaders.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am not a city slicker, I am more of an explorer. I know that I would take friends to places I have not been to. I have a bunch of places, restaurants, and things to do saved on my phone. If I had to choose an itinerary it would be this: day 1- making a home-cooked meal followed by hanging out at home and maybe movies
day 2-lets go hike!
day 3- maybe meet friends outdoors on the beltline or maybe a lake day
day 4- let’s go shopping! I would take them to thrift shops and local boutiques. Support small businesses!
day 5, 6, and 7 – probably partying with my family, sleep, or eat. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout goes out to my sorority, my entrepreneur friends, and the women in my life. Theta Nu Xi Multicultural Sorority Incorporated is an important part of my life. I would not be the person I am today without them in my life. I did not grow up with any sisters, so to have my sorority really helped me find my feminine side. All of my sisters have been my cheerleaders in so many ways. They allow me to share my world and are truly genuine with all their actions. I live by our tenants: Leadership, Community, Scholarship, Sisterhood, and Multiculturalism. Having Theta Nu Xi Multicultural Sorority Incorporated in my life has made me an advocate for many social issues and the strength to fight.
I love to network. I have met so many amazing people throughout my life through past work experiences and networking events. The people I meet really give me a perspective on what life can become. I would like to shout out my personal friend Kelsey Rivers. He is a candle maker and together we brainstorm so many ideas. The creative energy we have together makes me feel unstoppable. He is always there for me.
There are many women in my life that have really helped me get out of my box. My mom is number one, She taught me to be street smart. I appreciate all the advice that she gave me growing up. Without her guidance, I would not be able to handle life the way I can today. There are a handful of women that have helped me grow professionally. They are business owners and badasses. They are the ones that give me the inspiration and guts to do what I am doing. I am thankful for all I have learned from these women.
