We had the good fortune of connecting with Anthane Richie and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Anthane Richie is currently an Active Duty Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy. He is also a real estate investor in the Hampton Roads, VA area and hosts the Rich State of Mind Podcast. The Rich State of Mind Podcast is in the top 1.5% globally of active podcasts covering wealth building, investing, mindset, mental health, personal finance, marketing and entrepreneurship.
Hi Anthane, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
The first thing I did was acknowledge that I m not a multi-tasker. I had a bad habit of trying to do multiple things thinking I was being productive when really I my full attention was not on the tasks I needed to complete and my accuracy of each task was not where it needed to be. Compartmentalizing my day is the first habit I adopted to maximize my day. I wake up at 5am to work out and check emails that way I am responding to individuals prior to them coming into work.
Another habit I believed help me succeed was delegating. Have you ever heard of the phrase “You have to delegate to elevate” ? Once I have taken the time to learn (the basics) a part of my business, I hire someone else to handle the rest. This frees me up to work on my business vice in my business. If I am working in the business often this stunts me from being able to look more down range on what could help the business grow.
What should our readers know about your business?
I currently run two businesses that go hand-in-hand. I have a real estate investing business called Strong Homes Properties LLC and I have Rich State of Mind which is my intellectual business that provides content on real estate investing, entrepreneurship, personal finance and self development. It has been rewarding professionally and personally due to me truly having a passion for creating wealth, networking and self-improvement. Within the last year our Rich State of Mind Podcast has reached the Top 1.5% globally listed on Listen Notes. Over the last two years Strong Homes Properties has produced $200k in net profit.
This success has not been easy or simple, but I have learned with creativity and consistency you can produce success in any venture you want to pursue. When it comes to challenges understand that success cannot be reached by taking the elevator. You have to take the stairs. There is no easy way into building a stable business.
The Rich State of Mind brand and creating passive income is my passion. Growing up my parents had to miss a lot of great moments in order to provide for our family. I want myself and others to enjoy more time with their family by finding ways to make passive income. We post weekly content on the steps needed to do this on our website: https://richstateofmind.com/
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I had my best friend coming into my area, I would take them to a restaurant called Esoteric in Virginia Beach. This restaurant has the best burgers in my opinion in the area. A great place to have some fun with a drink and mature crowd would be The Grain in downtown Norfolk.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mother and father both deserve credit for the man I am today. My mother showed me how to be resourceful at all costs and to always find the “yes”. Her mentality was that there was always a way for us to come out on top in some way. I admire her for showing me that and apply it to my entrepreneur journey and my service in the U.S. Navy.
My father showed me how to be humble, thankful and to be thoughtful. I love being on the grind daily but my father’s side of me helps me slow down sometimes in order to efficiently analyze a situation to make the best decisions.
