We had the good fortune of connecting with Angela Reese and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Angela, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting Exec Level Massage and Beauty was being my own boss and being able to educate people on health and wellness in an Exec Level way. I have always cared about the well being of others and my own selfcare. So, I started receiving massages once a month and it was unbelievable of how balanced and stress free I felt. Also, I have worked as a Physical Therapy Technician for the past 15 years in the United States Navy and although, there is a little of Massage Therapy during sessions, I wondered what it would be like to perform Massage fulltime and educate clients that selfcare is not something that we save just for vacation. Selfcare is needed in our everyday lives to prevent illness and stress.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Wow. What sets me apart from most spa owners? I put all of my credentials into my work. I have been a medical professional for almost 20 years. So, I am willing to educate my clients on modalities that they can perform outside of the treatment room to enhance their blood levels and overall health. I also, give my clients their allotted time for their appointments. Their therapy does not start until I actually place my hands on them and Exec Level Massage and Beauty are a results driven spa. If a client continues to have the same complaint about an ailment or skin issues, I will contact their a Physician or Dermatologist directly to discuss a game plan for that particular client.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Since my friends love to site see, our first stop would be downtown to the Martin Luther King National Historic Site. Lunch at Ponce City Market. Afterwards, we would book a Spa Party at Uniquely You Spa located in McDonough, Georgia, or Skin Works Day Spa in Covington, Ga. A trip is not complete without pictures, so we would create more memories at the Selfie Experience located on Jonesboro Rd in McDonough, Georgia.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Exec Level Massage and Beauty wouldn’t be as successful as it is without the support and mentorship of many others. I believe in giving people their flowers while they are here. I would love to thank my parents Charles and Linda Ray for showing me what work ethic looks like and always showing me support to even have the courage to open a business. To see them go to and from work and watch them receive awards and promotions showed me how important it was to work hard. My husband, Antione Reese, Jr, the Executive Level Barber, who is my biggest cheerleader and helpmate whenever I need a contractor or any assistance. I appreciate his help every step along the way. Lastly, and definitely not least I would love to shoutout my two mentors, Mrs. Candace Holyfield-Parker, also know as the Six Figure Spa Chick, who owns the biggest Spa Community in the world. She gave me the opportunity to learn the spa business while working directly under her, and has been a valued mentor since the very beginning. Dr. Felicia Phillips, a Master Business Strategist and founder of Mogulcon, who has taught me how to adjust my business to increase my productivity and network in a new demographic. These ladies are both based in Atlanta, Georgia and definitely deserves a shout-out!
