We had the good fortune of connecting with Amy Cathryn and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amy, what is the most important factor behind your success?
For a business to become successful, its abundance must come from the heart. Loving what you do is what brings its success, because the quality, passion and energy of your work shines through. Enjoying what you do is what allows success to run through you, because success is something that can only happen through presence and awareness of the present moment. The mistake we often make is imagining success as some great thing that’s off in the future and hasn’t happened yet.

If you believe success is “off in the future” or “when X happens”, then you will always be chasing that mirage. You may perhaps briefly attain a great goal, but often times the ego transforms into yet another distant goal, thus continuing the cycle. Instead, emanate success through the joy of your craft. Success is you, your tools and the present moment. Being concerned for and producing quality work in the present moment and through your love of the work is what creates success because it allows you to truly shine and bring success into being.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art, like my business is very spiritual. A lot of what I create and do is unconventional, so I had to do a lot of soul-searching and self-acceptance to be comfortable with not being everyone’s cup of tea. Being more honest with what I enjoy creating — without the need to impress others or make things they would like — has helped me become a better artist. I also had to realize that there is an audience for any type of art, which helped me let go of my old tendencies to “people please” to be noticed.

I learned that being my authentic self, and being a creative for the sake of my own enjoyment has made me a better psychic and artist. After many life lessons and soul-searching, I realized people can be abundant in their craft if they do it from a heart-based space. Doing a thing for the love of the thing is one of the highest states of being a human can attain.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I actually love DragonCon, and have introduced multiple friends to it. DragonCon is a large, Sci-Fi/Fantasy convention that happens every Labor Day weekend in Atlanta (except for last year, due to Covid). I’d also take them to visit places like the Georgia Aquarium, Stone Mountain, and maybe even the Beltline. Some of my favorite spots I’d take them to see are in downtown Roswell. Mac McGee’s and Roux on Canton are fun, especially during Alive After Five. The Mill is another hidden gem in the area with a beautiful waterfall, a covered bridge and fun trails. We may even go on a ghost tour.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The book that helped me profoundly with becoming a more successful person is A New Earth, by Eckhart Tolle.
