We had the good fortune of connecting with Amanda Haynes and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amanda, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
You will never see or know your FULL potential until you seek it. Take the risk! Because if you don’t you’ll never know what could have come from it. I took the risk one day on a last minute event, I remember it like it was yesterday. I took the risk, but failed in so many ways. I remember driving home in disbelief BUT I was very thankful. In that very moment I was wiser & knew how to move forward. I had learned so much in what some may consider a disaster. Taking a risk has showed me that it’s okay to try. Even when your scared & if it didn’t work out the way you imagined at least it was a learning & growing opportunity. I recently took a risk in making treats. Had no idea what I was doing, but woke up one day and was like, ” I am going to try something new “. Taking the risk in something new helped my business stay afloat during a pandemic & during my slowest months of event planning.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What I believe sets me apart from others is the my eye in creativity. I enjoy making things by hand, & majority of the time taking things so simple to make a masterpiece for a centerpiece, etc. I see something and somebody is like where did you buy that, and I get excited so quick and say , I MADE IT! With my treats it’s the same thing. I like to take my time and really be creative. I feel like when time and creativity are put into something the outcome is 10x greater. I got to where I am today by perseverance, dedication & a whole lot of sleepless nights. It’s not easy being a entrepreneur. But if you really want something so bad in life the only way is to keep going no matter how long it takes, no matter how many times you may fail. I remember Christmas I sold Hot cocoa bombs. Greatest thing i could have done, but definitely a test. I’m a full time teacher , A mom, and an entrepreneur. There were nights I would stay up completing orders , no sleep and walk right into teaching. Valentine’s came and the same thing happened. Easter is approaching and Im telling myself , nope i’m not gone do it. But than my bestfriend texted me and said I need treats for my kids for easter. Just that text alone made me get up and get motivated for the next season. Nothing worth having will come easy!! My family and friends keep me motivated and the clients & customers keep me in business. That’s how I overcome. What I want the world to know about me and my brand is that we come with a lot of love, we put our heart into what we do to create memorable experiences for others. My story is simple, I’m just a girl trying to be somebody in this world. To leave something to my son, to show him that anything you put your mind to is possible.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We’re definitely packing up to go to the city! I’ve lived here my whole life and still figuring out some of the great things to do right here in the city. Even though I am learning the city myself I’ve learned to venture out and try new things , see new places etc. As long as we can go to Brunch on Sunday we’re going to explore the city together.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
With our a shadow of a doubt, Carmen Mays, Carmen was where it all begun. I didn’t know much about Carmen personally in the beginning, Her and my aunt were best friends & I was just the niece Lol. In 2015 my son was turning 1, & Carmen did his birthday party. I remember walking into the building and my jaw hit the floor. i was speechless and so thrilled. At that time event planning still wasn’t on my mind. As the years went on I was kind of the designated coordinator of my friends. My friends always wanted to get together and I was the one planning. Funny thing is , I enjoyed it!! So here we are creeping up on yet another birthday for my son. This time i was excited to plan and decorate on my own, nothing like Carmen’s but in my head it was BOMB!! Carmen came in and assisted with everything. A month later I took a risk and just went all in! Carmen has assisted every step of the way. She was never selfish in sharing vendors,  never selfish with her time or talents, she’s always so humble & encouraging.  What wows me even more is, she does event planning herself!!! Every time she has a event she would call and ask my opinion than my assistance in setting up. It’s so heart warming that she does this herself and STILL humble enough to push me. Even now until this day we help each other out. Everything I am now as an event planner, treats maker, a entrepreneur is because of her! She dedicates her heart and time and I couldn’t do it with out her. She’s really my partner in crime.
