We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexis Riva and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alexis, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I started my journey as a creative photographer, copywriter and life coach because I wanted to help people. So many times I’ve realized as a creative, we get overwhelmed, overloaded with ideas and really don’t know what to do with those ideas which sometimes leads to isolation, depression or anxiety. At the beginning, I had so many fears and lack of confidence in my voice that I allowed that to control me and my life. It was until I prayed more, affirmed what God says about me that pushed me where I am today as a Mental Health Creative. I found myself helping others overcome to become the best version of themselves visually, creatively and through written mediums.

I knew what it was like when I didn’t have a voice growing up. All I knew was to grab a pen and express myself in the most purest way. I found my voice there and ever since I help others do the same in their life, business and spiritual walk with the Lord. I truly prayed as well along with writing and being able to be free from the mental battles I used to struggle with really helped me to overcome and become the strong woman that I am today. Helping others create a vision for their life, creative visuals for their business and push them into who they are called to be brings joy to me.

I didn’t choose the media field, God called me to it because I feel like what he is asking me to produce will bring light to so many dark places. Being able to be a visionary and see so many off the wall creative ideas caused me to write more which caused me to map out many creative projects to be produced in 2021-2022. This isn’t an easy field to be in but my faith and trust lies in God rather than the next opportunity. I want to continue to impact others visually, mentally and spiritually.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I believe what sets me apart in general is my authenticity. Being able to have a story and relate to someone creatively and visually pushes me want to continue to press on. My process for my clients booking me for a goal and accountability session or booking for photography is an entire process that is hands on, easy but exciting for me and my clients. It took me a lot of prayer and just figuring out what I wanted to do with my life. All of my challenges seemed to have come when I would look at my life and age and say “what am I really doing? or What is my purpose” not knowing I was already doing what I needed to get me where I am n0w with photography, making body products (@levelsinhealing) and coaching others. It was a hard journey of overthinking but I am thankful to be in a better space mentally to where I am confident in my life, business and self. Self love is the best love.

Levels in Christ, LLC and Levels In Healing were both birthed out of a place of wanting to help others tell a story through my lens and being able to help them be more confident in self by using my products. I wanted to bridge the gap between encouragement, true joy and genuine help.

I’ve learned that you are exactly where you need to be for a reason and it’s not doing anyone any justice if we are rushing a process that’s supposed to be enjoyed. Each of my clients I’ve coached or took pictures of are truly thankful for the hard work but the support and love I give back to them.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Me and my best friend are almost the same people. We are pretty much twins by how much we look alike.

The first thing we would do is go to a rooftop brunch place in Atlanta, maybe do a museum then head to my fair sweets then go to Piedmont park to listen to music and create a cute picnic area. For the night time, maybe go to ponce city market and closing off the night with spa session with face and hair masks while binge watching law and order.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to thank God, my family and friends. I listen to so many podcasts throughout the week like Blessed + Bossed Up and The Flourish Effect.
