We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexis Cain and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alexis, how does your business help the community?
In life, we’re told to give people their roses while they can still smell them, but the reality is people rarely do. At TACE DE LUXE my vision helps to change the narrative of the dead, or as I like to say “transitioned” receiving more flowers than the living.

With our flower and healing bath services + celebration packages, TACE DE LUXE make it easy to gift, give, and receive your flowers. Our motto: Soak & Smell Your Roses #thetacedeluxeway ! 🌹

Celebrating life, loving on + healing self, and showing gratitude to others remain apart of our top priorities.

Every quarter we give free products and services. The babes inside our growing #tacebabe community and on our email list, get the opportunity to nominate a deserving babe we shower with flowers.

One of our goals for FY23 is to partner with non – profit organizations  (specifically women’s shelter, safe houses, & mental awareness groups & therapist) throughout the state of Georgia..

What should our readers know about your business?

Since I was a little girl, taking long baths was the go-to remedy for deep cleaning + healing at my grandma Fannie’s house, for pleasure + relaxation at my mother’s place and a fun time with my cousins at my uncle’s house.

I recall the very first time I watched my grandma make a bleach bath, I was scared to get inside. Once she explained the health benefits, I was wide open, receptive and wanted more of her special baths! I fell in love with baths from that point on. If I was sick or came down with any cold symptoms, a peroxide bath would get ran to take my fever down. When my eczema would have a flair up, I got soaked in a bath of oats & honey to reduce inflammation and soothe my skin.

Some of my best bathing memories were the times I’d pretend like I was rich rich – we’ve all seen Pretty Woman! You couldn’t tell me moms master bed and bath wasn’t my penthouse suite! From drinking apple cider out of her champagne glasses to lining the side of the tub with snacks & candy! I still fill my baths to the rim but replaced Mr. Bubbles with my own bubble bath recipes topped of rose petals. Taking a bath always turned into a memorable experience.

As I got older, my love for baths only grew stronger. All inclusive resorts with jacuzzi tub or swim out suite villas, day spa memberships, staycations at 5 star boutique hotels, and my addiction to at home wellness, bath, body, and beauty products became my go-to for self-care. Thankfully, working in Corporate America during my prime years made it very easy for me to afford the best of the best. So when it came to pampering myself, I did just that to the fullest extent, no matter the cost of the product or experience .

Unfortunately, life hit hard after I moved from San Jose, CA  to Atlanta , GA. My financial & job security, healthcare benefits were gone in the blink of an eye – stability tested! This period of my life was challenging to overcome. Adapting in a new city with such life changing events , limited support / resources wasn’t easy.

Thankfully, it was during that rough chapter I began recreating many of the luxuries I use to pay top dollar for in the comfort of my home. A little research, my creative twist and soon after I was mixing recipes & customizing bath experiences that made me feel good! Holidays roll around , I’d pamper myself and loved ones with an unforgettable , custom experience #thetacedeluxeway !🥂

To date becoming a bereaved turned Angel 😇 mother last year –  1/10/21 is by far the hardest challenge I’ve had to face as a human, mother, black woman and business owner. I’m a proud , hands on and present mother to my four children (royals) who are my world
(Andree lll | Alonzo | Antonio | Princess Diana ) , so any active parent can only imagine the pain and heartbreak attached to a firstborn child passing away/transitioning before them.

This unforeseen tragedy took a toll on my mental health, personal & professional plans physically + financially. It challenged my faith in God and people I loved, or considered family too. While I’m thankful my son’s voice was the last I heard before I went to sleep, the pain of my loss remains unbearable.

Watching so many who claimed to “love” my sonshine ADJ3 when he was living , attemp to give him his flowers after he transitioned cut deep too because those I least expected switched up showing me colors I didn’t know exsisted. That so called “real love” exposed itself to be fake love in less than a year, so in reality those individuals gave my sonshine ADJ3  artificial flowers (not the real flowers he deserved). In addition,  portrayed status titles/roles for the clout & the attention that comes when a great being like my sonshine ADJ3 transitions ! As his mother it really hurt to witness the love & loyalty fold and my sonshines life become a hashtag and trend in a sense to them when his love was 1 of a kind , roc solid and genuine ! Although my sonshine ADJ3 will forever live through myself & family (especially his siblings & I) and those he embraced as a brother, or called a friend, I don’t wish this pain on anyone. My sonshine ADJ3’s  transition taught me – people will change no matter the history or real love you show.

But even during that dark depression, I had no choice but to find the flame within myself , strike the light and get up & fight through all this adversity.

My life not only changed forever but paused , in the midst of launching my business website to the world. I was forced to to return home to California to undergo the worst experience to date, plan a funeral, deal with disappointments, intentional disrespect, while struggling daily to get out of bed/shower let alone clean ! Looking back the depression, financial road blocks,  and much more almost took me out. Arriving back home to California never felt so empty!

And the pain didn’t stop there. I had an open wound in my heart during the months I spent seeking answers , drinking champagne to numb the pain & experienced some of the closest people I loved wholeheartedly piss on my open wound. From being denied my son’s insurance claim (scammed by Primerica Life Insurance), to paying out of pocket for every funeral expense, depleting personal and business savings, receiving support from a handful of family / friends but NOT 1 PENNY from my sons father or family. However, learning his father hired a lawyer in hopes to receive money from the car accident that killed my son was the icing that slapped me in the face while grieving ! Talk about greed, audacity and a tough pill to swallow. Imagine losing a child, spending almost every dime in your bank account, forced to end a 13 year relationship with your partner while a depressed messed grieving, needing to still mom and be strong for your other 3 children living and grieving too, unemployed due to covid & a business you’ve invested thousands of dollars , sweat and tears into sitting. In all transparency , I’m still recovering ❤️‍🩹  from it all. Weathering this dark storm is tough but I have no choice but to wake up everyday, push and see through building the proper legacy to honor & forever remember my sonshine ADJ3.

As I continue this journey called life without the physical presence of my sonshine ADJ3, I’ve learned firsthand -Grief does NOT have an expiration date nor does my healing. I give myself time, grace and isolated space as I see fit , take lots of baths and find solace in moments of silence knowing my sonshine ADJ3 is always with me in spirit and not alone in his new home.

This mindset gave me power to get back to making memories with my royals (Alonzo, Antonio, & Princess Diana), start a non profit that assist single mothers with the cost associated with death (as it’s very expensive) and finish what I started with TACE DE LUXE.  I know this alone has made my sonshine ADJ3 proud and he’s for sure smiling down, watching over and protecting me, his siblings, & the handful of real people that continue to honor & respect my Sonshine ADJ3 in the right light.

🌹That said I would encourage anyone reading this to :

1. Live & Love life like everyday is your last.
2. Depend on yourself at all times so when others disappoint and/or disappear, you don’t fall, you remain standing tall on your own.
3. Don’t leave your happiness or healing in the hands of others – go deep within & trust God.
4. Acknowledge , celebrate yourself & those you love – give them their flowers now not later when they can’t see them, smell them, or thank you for them.
5. BE PRESENT- Love on your children no matter what ! Be their fighter, lighter , protector and #1 go to supporter from creation to eternity..
6. Keep your faith regardless of the hardship & test.
7. When people show you who they are believe their action over any words spoken the first time don’t make any excuses for grown individuals .
8. If it doesn’t bring you happiness OR peace, you don’t need it.
9. Master the art of detachment from people, places, & things you love now so you’re mentally prepared when they’re taken from you later.
10. Say no – Be selfish with your love, energy & golden treasure (material & spiritual gifts included).

…and to the world, support , shop and book us as we turn up the heat to grow TACE DE LUXE globally. 🥂

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
This should be fun as I’m still an ATL newbie myself but here goes:

My best friend is known for arriving in town Thursday late morning so I’d pick her up and our first stop would be

Breakfast At Barney’s as we both love a good brunch and cocktail beverage. The weekends here can get l busy so I like to catch this spot on Friday Eve.

Assuming we both need a nail fill & pedicure our next spot would be the Nail Bar buckhead or Bethelview Nail & Spa.

After that hit up Jeju Sauna Spa to relax, get a hip bath and body shampoo French Mask.

Once done head to Pappadeaux for a good dinner before going back to my home.

Friday morning we’d spend the day shopping at Lenox Mall & Phipps Plaza and go for hookah & food at Divan Restaurant & Bar..

Saturday morning we’d head to Chateau Elan for bestie massages, wine tasting, lunch & laughs. Head to Radient Waxing to get silky smooth skin for the evening. Next, Saturday night enjoy a fun evening out with good music , drinks and food at Copper Cove Atlanta.

Sunday brunch at Le Bilboquet , explore the shops at buckhead village for some retail therapy and close out our Sunday with a fun bestie photo shoot at The Gurl Mob Musem or The Culture Experience Atlanta and dinner at Gypsy Kitchen.

Monday we’d sleep and enjoy some me time before heading to Slutty Vegan for a homewrecker + slushie , then hit up Atlantic Station for some light shopping and family game night , pizza & bowling at Bowlero Atlanta Station .

Tuesday spend the day at Ponce City Market shopping , lunch on the roof top nine mile with a Photoshoot of us and the amazing skyline view. We’d probably head to southern gentleman for cocktails after.

Wednesday – I’d surprise my bestie with a girls day in celebration at – Belamere Suites . Decorate the room and prepare her a bath service #thetacedeluxe Invite some of my local friends for her to meet and cater us all food by the jacuzzi with chef bae of Niques Kitchen https://niqueskitchen.net/
Or Savory Steph https://www.savorysteph.com/
Thursday- grab a to go order from Rahim’s Seafood before dropping my bestie off at airport.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
👑 My Royal$ (4 children) – Andree lll , Alonzo, Antonio and Princess Diana – are my why and the best teachers I’ve had to date. Each one of their lives continue to empower, strengthen and develop me into a better person and mother.

While my nurturing water helps them to grow into who they’re placed on this earth to be, it’s their unconditional love , support, and understanding that fuels me to keep going. No matter the weather or circumstances , I’ve pushed through because of them.

Being a single and now bereaved mom is not easy, but if I give up on myself, that’s like throwing in the towel on them and I would never do that. They’re no conditions when it comes to the love & fight I have for my royals, They’ve witnessed my battles, tears and hardship in high definition but their exsistence also serve as my personal trainer/ life coach.

Anytime I fight for our peace, stability and happiness, their faces are always what & who I see in my corner! Yelling for me to get up when life hits hard or knocks me down , cheering for me through all my wins and being front line to go to war, help , heal and love me through my pain / hardest of days.

Next to my royals would definitely be my mother Diana + family! God knows it takes a village to not only raise a child but more importantly to burry & grieve the loss of one.
