We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexandra Zak and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alexandra, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
“sit through the pain” Growth is painful. A lot of times in life I wasn’t able to sit thru growth and watch something or myself grow. I was impatient and only listened to myself. I gave up too quickly or my reactions were shot from the hip instead of taking aim. My business has had ups and downs and sometimes I am outright over it. But, I sit through the growth.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Editorially, creating a story behind my imagery. Networking. I enjoying making lasting connections with my clients.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Kinda hard to say with the current pandemic.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First, my spiritual connection has guided me through so much in my life. Second, my mom and dad. My mentor Linda Loudermilk. My MUA Nancy who always keeps me grounded during a chaotic shoot. My partner Robbie who gives me reality checks and endless support and reassurance, The Mooney’s who always make me feel like I have a home. Josh Houda, for always believing in me. My close friends for always encouraging me, critiquing my work honestly and telling me I’m awesome even when I feel anything but. Nikki, for being there thru it all. Grace, my favorite muse and rock. Jackson from UW Models who has been the best cheerleader. The models I’ve worked with who inspire me every day with their beauty and excitement. A lot of love. A lot of gratitude. It took a village for me to be where I am now and I’ll never forget it.
