We had the good fortune of connecting with Aletha Barno and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Aletha, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Independence has always been my goal in life. I’ve always worked to have a sense of freedom when it comes to how I live my life. Owning my own business has just always seemed like the answer. This time around I knew I had to do something that I can take pride in, something that was satisfying and something I enjoyed.

One day it just sort of came to me, smiles. Everyone should have a bright smile. Sounds cliche, but I’ve always felt this way. Growing up I’ve always taken pride in my smile and as an adult I’ve taken steps to maintain it. The confidence that I have from receiving positive feedback about my smile has made me want to help others achieve that same confidence.

Now I can do what I love to do and build a profitable business at the same time.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The idea of Whoa Teeth Whitening came from my passion for helping others build confidence. The smile is the first hello. I’m excited to help others on their smile journey. The reaction that clients have upon leaving is super fulfilling. That’s what sets me apart from others, passion. I have a genuine connection with clients and their ultimate smile goal. Once I start the journey, I have to see it through. There are cases that are tougher than others and I motivate those clients to stick with it.

Starting my business was fairly easy, but has been lots of continuous work. From marketing to finding a location, and now getting new clients, it’s been a journey. Starting the company and raising a 5 year old during a pandemic had to be the most trying part of it all. Staying level headed and motivated kept me going. I’m excited to see the hard-work pay off. I’ve learned to just stick with it. Don’t expect overnight results. I am striving for longevity with my business, so I know that there will be bumps along the way.

Whoa Teeth Whitening is a company who wants to help build others up.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would want my friend to experience the “real Atlanta”. The people in Atlanta are great and the only way to know this is to go to local events, food truck events Trinton Yards is great for this. You have to get out and meet people. Piedmomt Park is also great to visit and have a picnic, a walk, or just a place to gather your thoughts. My summer favorite would be a pool party. Atlanta has the best and several options.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to shout out my son for his patience during this journey. My God daughter for her hands on support and motivation. I also want to shoutout my family and friends for being supportive and encouraging.
