We had the good fortune of connecting with Shawn Shepard and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shawn, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
God! Having faith in him is what started my business and what has kept me going. There was a time in my life when I didn’t know where my next paycheck was coming from and blessings and opportunities would appear. I don’t believe it was magic, coincidence, or my own will that had that to happen. It was God!
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Triple S. Shots is a creative firm out of Atlanta, Savannah, and will travel world wide. We specialize in wedding, branding, and portrait photography and video. What sets us apart is my dedication and passion to make sure everyone I come in contact with feels good about themselves even if it’s just for moment. I capture sacred moments so my clients can cherish them forever. I help people see the beauty in their unique lives and help brands display their product and service in the best light. I want them to feel good about what they are doing. We believe in world-class customer service, professionalism, and quality in service and products that’s always improving. We grew by word of mouth and that’s a testimate to how we treat our customers. It wasn’t always easy, because I was not experienced in any of this but I took my mistakes and challenges and used them as lessons. I prayed a lot for wisdom and grace. I also humbled myself by asking for help, always being teachable, and taking criticism/correction well. I want the world to know that everyone deserves to be celebrated and I want my company to help you feel that and capture that for you! Photography is so much more that clicking a button and posing. It has documented history for us in a way that words could not. Let us be your own personal historian. That’s what we love to do!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This is in no particular order: I would take them to waffle house at 1 am in the morning, Arabia and Stone Mountain, The Battery, Ponce City Market, Piedmont Park, the Belt line, MJQ night club, karaoke at my house, and then we would drive to Savannah and go to City Market, River Street and eat pralines from Savannah Sweets, Tybee island, and my Mama’s house for some good ol’ Low Country Boil (seafood boil)! Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My father because he introduced the world of photography to me. He taught me how to use a 35mm camera and bought me my first camera. My mother for ALWAYS supporting me and next “great” ideas lol. I can’t ever recall a time that she ever told me I couldn’t or shouldn’t do anything that I was passionate about. Even if I lost my passion, she would help me find it again. My pastor encouraged me to fully embrace photography. I picked it up as a hobby but she saw my potential and gave me opportunity to work on my craft. My family and friends that put up with me always having a camera with me. And my ex boss, who fired me and was a catalyst to me pursuing photography as a career! Ha!
