Hi Martika, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind launching my business Remake Couture was to embrace women to know that they are beautiful regardless of their color, shape, or skin. To share black love between women around the country. To embrace the word love & not hate. Show our younger generation that if we stick together as one, that we can empower our beauty across the nation.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My professional career is personal not just a money maker path. Selling waist trainers is a very high market product across the world. My business represents me and who I am as an individual. I look at it like this you have different types of loaf of bread on the same shelf but everyone like their own type of brand of bread. Meaning I don’t just sell, I give you a Quality waist snatcher that not only shapes your curves but truly enhances your beauty. This journey isn’t easy by far but it’s well worth it, with faith & keeping god first I never have a doubt. I’m not where I want to be in my career but I know with my faith I will be. I strive to keep going until I reach my destiny, I believe in the word BEAUTIFUL it is an magnificent thing and every women should embrace their beauty. As of today makes 7 months since I walked out on faith and work in my own career path, just know this still the beginning & next time you hear from me it will be a story of manifestation greatness.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well my bestfriend is an entrepreneur herself , her name is Sharica Gregory. So let me tell you how our week goes when she does visit. First we would wake up for brunch & go to The Breakfast Club in Houston,Tx which is the city I live in. Most likely go shopping at the Galleria which is our favorite shopping location. Now you know for dinner we have to fill our tummies up with the Turkey Leg Hut & some fruity daiquiris. Later that night fine a nice lounge with some good music probably Atomic Bottle. This just one day lol, but during the week we would of course visit Top Golf, The aquariums, summer time so of course a water park cause we love to have fun like big eats. Hit more brunch places for as Taste Bar, Seaside, address etc . Life full of love, laughs , & encouragement.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My first shout out goes to my beautiful kids Diamond Douglas & Kentrell Ruffin they are the first people who motivated me. I personally want to thank my mother Jeanisha Zine for being my personal mentor & never letting me give up. As well I want to thank my brothers jermaine & Larry locke for making sure daily I added to the Remake Couture foundation & elevated.
