We had the good fortune of connecting with King Justo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi King Justo, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I believe taking legitimate risks test your comfortability and how far you are willing to accomplish tasks at hand. In life, they have helped me discover things about myself that I did not know before whether it be hidden talents or ways I can positively impact people’s lives around me.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business The Crown Family was founded based off the 3 principles of PERSEVERANCE, EXCELLENCE, & ROYALTY. We are a streetwear/lifestyle brand designed to promote our communities to have empowering & royal mindsets in all they do, so in return they have a positive outlook on life despite the trials they may face.
Getting to where The Crown Family is has not at all been an easy road. Starting out we had to go through the first stages of product sourcing to figure out the specifics of our target crowd and how to differentiate ourselves from others.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Being from Chicago, there is always a plethora of things to do no matter the time of year. This would be a weekend hangout and I would take my best friend to many of the notable places around the city. Harold’s Chicken is a definite food stop (don’t forget the extra mild sauce!) along with Lou Malnati’s deep dish pizza parlor. The tourist attractions that must be visited include The Willis Tower (us Chicagoans still call it the Sears Tower). The city is filled with a variety types of people and we learn to be more self-aware with how fast pace it actually is. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My story and growth can be accredited to my family and peers who have contributed to my character/personal development over the years.
Additionally, as a business owner I give credit to the book “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” by Robert Kiyosaki for teaching different aspects of financial literacy and the difference between the rich and the wealthy mindsets. It shaped the way I view different sides of finance and forming generational wealth.
