We had the good fortune of connecting with Kelly Harding and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kelly, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I have always worked for other people and knew I had the skills to have my own business. I saw a need, which aligned with my passion and decided to put a plan in place. A year later, my wrapping paper business came to life.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

My business was created from a love for all things paper that led me on this journey of self-discovery and creativity. I create illustrations which become paper goods. The result is Prnt’d, an artisanal wrapping paper company in Kennesaw, Georgia, for all the gifting celebrations in your life.

My designs are digitally printed on premium weight paper with a matte finish. The sheets are 20X29 and sold in sets of three. The sheets can also be framed as wall art. I do custom work and I specialize in wrapping paper that speaks to my culture and I am proud of that. I’m doing it for women like me and little girls who didn’t see themselves on wrapping paper when they were growing up. Prnt’d is a modern gift wrap company.

I got here through tenacity and the drive to have something of my own. It has not been easy. It seems easy and fun, because it is your passion and a thing you really want, but the challenges along the way can be duanting. Business is tough. You have to do a lot of work to get your name out there; networking, social media, etc. I have hired a social media manager to help with those challenges. My biggest lesson learned? If one thing doesn’t work, try something else. Keep going and don’t be afraid to ask for help.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband and daughters. They have been my support, through all of the ups and downs of getting this business started. When I wanted to give up, they pushed me to keep going. I couldn’t have done this without them.
