Meet Taylor Howard | CEO and Designer of Sinclair

We had the good fortune of connecting with Taylor Howard and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Taylor, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risk is necessary. Many of my decisions have been made on risk taking. The biggest risk I’ve ever taken is stepping out on faith and moving to Atlanta by myself at 19, and it was the best decision I ever made. I never looked back because it was also necessary for my brand. I take risks on my business everyday, because I know whatever’s meant to be will be and I know one good decision could change your life forever for the better. I’ll never stop taking risks. You have to take risk to get greater results.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a fashion designer specializing in women’s clothing. I create custom handmade pieces and I also drop seasonal collections. My favorite part of my brand, Sinclair, is that EACH piece is handmade by me in my little ole bedroom lol. I love seeing all the things I create come to life. I first started off buying biker shorts and crop tops from a store and going to the flee market and getting my brand name heat pressed on and I would sell them as sets. I did that for a couple of months but I wanted to do something more personal, so when I got my sewing machine in 2019 I started hand making all my pieces. It wasn’t easy when I first started because I would mess up on measurements and different small things but everything was a learning process and I was able to learn from all my mistakes. I had to learn that it should always be quality over quantity and that you will not be able to please everyone. I’m most proud of myself for teaching myself everything I know and not being afraid to try things that are out of my comfort zone. I’m super excited about expanding and I want the world to know that my brand has so much more to offer and big things are on the way!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting I would most definitely take her to Suite Food Lounge for brunch. They are one of my favorite restaurants to brunch at. My second fav brunch spot is Escobar. I love the vibes at both places and their food is amazing. I don’t go out much so I don’t know too many bars or clubs but we would could definitely check out some lounge places or hookah spots. I like chill vibes. I do really like trying new food spots, so I would enjoy trying different restaurants out with different types of food. We would also def hit Atlantic Station. They have different markets and events there sometimes and it’s always a good vibe when I’m there. I also like going to museums, the aquarium, and different parks.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a huge shoutout to my AMAZING customers and supporters, because without them I would be nothing. I also. want to give a shoutout to the best support system ever; my family and friends. They encourage me everyday to continue to follow my dreams, take risks, and be my best self. I appreciate them so much for always believing me in me even when I don’t believe in myself.
