Meet Benny Silva | Yoga Instructor, Breath & Sound Facilitator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Benny Silva and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Benny, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
Honestly, I’ve stopped thinking about balance as a final destination where life is perfectly organized. Balance is just life. It’s the daily practice of getting things done without losing your connection to yourself. And look, it’s a practice, meaning I definitely screw it up sometimes. There are days I completely lose my footing, but the goal is just to keep getting back up.
To stay nourished, I treat my personal practices as non-negotiables. When life gets frantic, I rely heavily on tiny micro-resets. I’ll just pause for a few minutes to move my body, take a few conscious breaths, or sit with the handpan, the harp, or the harmonium. Merging that movement and breath with the sound frequencies forces me to drop out of my head and check back in with my body. It is the quickest way to shift out of survival mode and back into a present space.
Ultimately, I’ve had to let go of trying to do it perfectly. Being balanced doesn’t mean being perfectly peaceful 24/7. It just means noticing when you’ve hit a wall, giving yourself some grace, and taking a second to ground yourself again.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I create immersive, vibrational journeys using conscious breath and live sound. Each session is approached as a living story that mirrors life, bringing people through the peaks and valleys of a dynamic soundscape, from heavy percussive depths to spaces of absolute, blissful stillness.
I weave sounds from all over the world to take participants inward. In my kit, instruments like the didgeridoo, gongs, and Himalayan-style bowls create the low frequencies that ground us. The handpan, harp, and flute carry the melodic middle, telling the story, while crystal bowls and chimes offer the high frequencies that lift us up. Merging these high and low frequencies with conscious breath allows people to get out of their analytical heads and straight into their hearts and bodies. It’s a safe space to process, move stuck energy, and integrate. People absolutely do not leave the same way they came in; they leave with a whole new sense of self and a deeper connection to who they really are.
This work emerged out of my own personal necessity during seasons of feeling completely disconnected and running on empty. I realized that following your passion means just putting yourself out there and reframing failure as nothing more than a series of honest attempts. It’s an imperfect, daily practice, and losing your footing is just part of the process. No step on this path is wasted.
What I want the world to know about Resonate is that it is a raw, high-integrity, judgment-free container. You don’t need to have it all figured out to step into this space. You just have to show up, lay down, breathe, and let the sound journey carry you back home to yourself.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We’d kick things off in Atlanta, rock climbing at The Overlook, walking the BeltLine, and catching whatever events are happening at Pullman Yards. For food, we are absolutely hitting the Chai Pani buffet, grabbing authentic Vietnamese at Nam Phuong, and exploring the vibrant markets and street food at Plaza Fiesta. To drop into the body and connect, I’d take them to Sol Dance for ecstatic movement, followed by a yoga and sound session at Decatur Healing Arts or Dancing Dogs. We’d round out the trip out on the water paddleboarding at Stone Mountain, before taking a road trip up to Chattanooga to spend a few days hiking, swimming, and exploring the outdoors.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’ve been incredibly blessed with the people in my corner, each of them shaping the work I do and helping me return to myself. Through my men’s group, Warriors Path, I’ve been able to go so much deeper in my own journey, surrounded by conscious men who truly embody what healthy masculinity looks like. That growth aligns closely with my brother, Cris, whose ongoing insight keeps me grounded physically, spiritually, and emotionally. My kids and family expand that reflection even further. They see me at my absolute highs and my lowest lows, challenging how I move through the world in ways nobody else on this planet could. Claudia knows the most unfiltered version of me. She’s stood by my side through it all, challenged my decisions, and held me when I’ve fallen apart, seeing me in ways others simply don’t. Honestly, every single one of them has kept me grounded and made me better for it.
