Meet Azure: Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Azure and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Azure, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success and the success of my brand, would be self- belief. In order to achieve success, you already have to believe that you are successful. Always have trust and have faith in yourself first. If you don’t believe in yourself and your brand then no one else will. 

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
In the midst of a pandemic, on August 24th 2020, with a plan to inspire through my music, I released a new single and music video titled “BAD BAD”! The meaning behind “BAD BAD” stands as one who is independent, confident, and are their authentic self. One who is not only beautiful on the outside but on the inside as well. What sets me apart is I’m 100 percent involved in the entire creative process of my projects. I write, direct, produce, and choreograph. The performing arts have been a passion of mine since I was a little girl. My music contains great messages. I’m proud that my latest single “BAD BAD” had a meaningful message that people received well. I’m so excited about the New Year 2021! I took a few losses in 2020. I lost my job and a few close friends. I had to overcome heartbreak and figure out a way to support myself and fund my dreams. 2020 was also a blessing. It brought out a stronger drive and hustle within me. I created a way to earn income by using my dance background and started teaching dance fitness virtually. “BAD BAD” single and music video was released, which continues to inspire. I got to where I am today, by staying focused, working hard, and believing in myself. I have a morning routine that consist of feeding my mind with positivity and motivation. It was not easy to get where I am today. It takes a lot of dedication, discipline, and sacrifice. There are days where I don’t feel like working. That’s when I get up and motivate myself to work regardless of how I feel. I want to reach my goals so that drives me. Also, I face the challenge of over thinking and being too serious about my art. I now know to just have fun while I’m creating and to not be so hard on myself. A few lessons I’ve learned along the way on my journey, is to be patient, release quality over quantity, and whatever is meant to be will be. One thing I’m working on is to be more patient and to trust the process. I tend to get sooo excited to post or release something new that I’ll rush to put it out. I’m learning that it’s better to have a small amount of good quality work than a abundance of bad quantity work. I also believe that whatever is meant for me God will give it to me. What I want the world to know about myself is that I’m a unique girl with big dreams. I’m loving, family oriented, hard working, and passionate about being an artist but most importantly being known as an overall great person. I want the world to know and appreciate my artistry. My music will make you want to dance, love, and feel. I am a legend in the making. While my story is still being written, I want the world to look forward to all the great things to come. To whomever is reading this, I want you to know that you can do whatever your heart desires and don’t ever give up on your dreams!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would love to take my best friend to dinner at The Juicy Crab Restaurant. The seafood is so delicious. The atmosphere of the restaurant is pretty cool too.Then, stop at The Georgia Aquarium. It’s a beautiful place with lots of sea animals on display. Next is shopping and hanging out at Mall of Georgia. One of my favorite stores is Edge. They have cute edgy and trendy clothes. Last but not least, we’d go to Six Flags Amusement Park. The roller coasters are fun to ride. I love rollercoasters it gives me a adrenaline rush!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate my shout out to my Mom/Manager, Melissa. She has been more than a tremendous help to my career. My success would not be possible without her and God. She wears so many hats when it comes to my music career and exceeds all expectations. I would also like to dedicate my shout out to my supporters. I appreciate the growing support system I have because the love I receive from them keeps me going.
