We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Jordan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brittany, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I’m from Marietta, Ga. However, I was born in Louisiana on an Army Base. That’s been the course of my life. Growing up a military brat exposed me to so many cultures and background. The constant change became so rooted that it was 2nd nature to be able to establish myself in a new city or state. It definitely spilled over into my creative style. I consider everyone and everything in my creations because of it. That’s why my brand is called Knotty Kulture. So many cultures and interests are reflected in the custom creations from Knotty Kulture.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I currently work for Georgia Power. I love it. I’ve had several jobs, but not one that provides me with the funds & this much space to pursue my talents and passions. It was not easy but when I look back very necessary. I made changes based off my heart and leveled up each time. Although I work for a power company. I’ve worked in retail, media, hospitality .. all the fields that prepped my now entrepreneurial spirit to pursue my passions of the same interests.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them to Main Street in college park for brunch or lunch. So many nice restaurants to choose from on that street: The Corner Grille, Fresh from Earth Tea, The Real Milk & Honey . Maybe walk it off in little 5 points where there’s street art, shopping, & Just all things artsy: moods music, vendors, etc. End the evening at Apache where you can have drinks and live entertainment or better yet be entertaining.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
•I want to shoutout Artist and Talent Taylor B Douglas for simply recommending me to Voyage Atl and being an inspiration. •Of course my mom for bringing me on the wild ride of her military lifestyle that made me who I am. •My siblings Erika & Ryan who show up to every event & model every product.
