We had the good fortune of connecting with Takyla Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Takyla, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I’ve always wanted to do hair it was all about timing one of my big cousins inspired me with the hair business she use to always do mine and others and I would watch, over the years I begin to do hair a little here and there, and now it’s bigger than I thought so much clientele & Growth.

My other passion is music, I’m a DJ this has been a dream for me since I graduated high school I’ve never taken it seriously I’ve reached out to different DJs but I never really went through with it, my hair business started doing good so I took that money and invested into my DJ equipment. My mom is a singer so the love for music runs in my family. Doing the things I wanted to do back in 2019 had been the best thing ever done. Like I said it’s all about timing. And the time was RIGHT.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a hairstylist and Dj. What Makes me different from others is my hustle & Ambition I was always told you can be whatever you want to be and that has followed me a long way. I’m proud of how far I’ve come in making more connections with people I’m following my dreams. I got her by the faith of god, without him I wouldn’t be here today it’s all about timing I built myself up and stepped out on faith, the journey wasn’t easy at all. A lot of doubt but I stayed focused and my mom was always there to remind me Kyla Don’t give up just be patient. you have to crawl before you walk. I’ve learned to follow my heart with things and anything is possible. don’t sit and wait to do something when you have all you need right in front of you! time waits on no one.

I want the world to know believe in yourself and know that nobody will believe in you more than you! This is only the beginning for me y’all will see and hear more about me soon.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to send a big shout-out to my mother, I suffered from anxiety badly, and honestly, my mother was the only one who was there for some points I thought I wasn’t normal and my mother made me feel like I was. With that being said without my mother I wouldn’t be where I am today! thanks for loving me correctly, Leading Me Correctly & Showing Me There is a bigger picture!
