We had the good fortune of connecting with Frank Lamar and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Frank, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
Well first, I would like to say every day as I chase my dreams, all of my entrepreneurial pursuits and while I’m in the journey things are constantly changing in the business world all while you balance personal life and business. So there will always be lessons to learn , the real question is how will you adapt? However, the most important lesson my business/ career has taught me would be that it is okay to fail and start over as many times as you need to revamp ,rebuild, and rebrand to come back stronger. Lastly, my business/career has also taught me failure will be your biggest lesson.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
We all have things that make us unique, but the the many things that set me apart from others would be: my power of reinvention, the several different business hats I wear ( Celebrity Publicist, Influencer, Visionary, Lifestyle Connoisseur, and Event Specialist ),my level of thinking and creativity, my want for us all to win, and my reason why…. which would be my family.

I am most excited for being able to one day take care of my family and those who took care of me through all of my entrepreneurial pursuits.

I got to where I am today, professionally for many reasons. One being I never quit or gave up on myself; the average person who faced as many obstacles, mistakes, burned as many bridges, and had to start over so many times would have given up on themselves. Me being so resilient and being able to always bounced back plays a huge factor as well as my family support. I would be completely lost without them. Lastly, I learned the power of collaboration and how it is the new competition.

This journey has not been easy. It has been extremely difficult and most want understand it until its their turn to start their business. This business world is driven by relationships, resources, connections and purpose. It comes with so many uncertainties and challenges. How I overcome challenges I faced is remembering the last challenged I faced and how I got through it and viewing challenges as part as the journey. You have to not only prepare for success but also the failure that comes before it.

The lessons I have learned is do not rob peter to pay Paul, live in your truth, accept change, adapt, its okay to start over, learn to ask for help, relationships will take your business further than money, and do not compete with others.

The things I want the world to know from my brand and story would be every brand and story is different. Most people do it with start up money, I didn’t . Most people think you have to have a certain dollar amount, my story prove that to be wrong. You have to have enough passion, understand your purpose, surround yourself with the right people, and do your ideas with the right people.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend(s)s were visiting the area I would want the week to be full of surprises being that they are all spontaneous and adventourous. We would eat and drink at The Boiler, OLG, Dancin’ Crepe, STK, Ruth’s Chris, Blue Seafood House, and Pasha. The week would have to consist of some of our favorite activities including the Spa, Mani & Pedi, Shopping, Hiking, and stopping by some of our favorite lounges. The most exciting things for us would be pounce city market roof top ( to act like kids), they would probably try to make me cook, we would have to bar hop on Edgewood, go to the boxing ring, and gun range.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
