We had the good fortune of connecting with Elaine Burgalin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Elaine, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I’ve always desired to have my own, and wanted more than just working behind a desk every single day. Designing and creating has always been a passion of mine. Came across a blog page explaining how she enjoys being an artist and the process of it. Well, one day it inspired me to find something that not many were doing at the time. That’s when I discovered flower backdrops that were very popular at the time for weddings and events. Eventually, I ended up starting a business of my own customizing flower walls for Air BNB’s, Homes, or Business owner’s shops or salons. At the beginning it was very hard starting out, I made a lot of mistakes that I had to learn from. 3 years later I’m still learning and growing as I go. I truly enjoy what I do and will continue creating and designing new ideas. I will be launching my website in January. There will be a variety of colors and shapes of flower panels, as well as grass panels available for purchase. All flower panels are hand made and designed by me.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Currently, I am balancing a full time job as well as working on my business in between time. It can be very difficult trying to balance both, but when you want something so bad there is nothing that will stop you from that. I aim to be a full time interior Designer soon. Having a great team and using social media has been my biggest help. Word of mouth referrals have helped to keep me growing and let more people know about the services provided. We design to inspire, brighten up your area, bring your visions to life!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Parkside District in Lawrenceville has a great ambiance and their food is very delicious. Atlanta has a great variety of places to visit with an amazing variety of food to try as well.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The people I have in my corner are truly my backbone! My boyfriend has been my biggest support pushing me everytime I become overwhelmed, helps keep me steady and focused. Really takes a village to help you get to where you need to be. My best friend and family have been such great help. It’s impossible to get things done alone with no help, everyone needs someone in their corner to help push them to their fullest potential. I really do appreciate everyone that’s been supportive and helping me grow this business.
