We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicole Cosby-Carter and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nicole, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
When I decided to narrow my Niche and focus on a particular target audience is when I began to see my business grow. I had the ability to just focus on a particular audience and began creating and designing for that audience only and by word of mouth I started getting more bookings.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I consider myself as a designer. I have the creative ability to turn nothing into something fabulous. I’ve always been a DIY kind of girl and have an eye for fashion. I’m most proud of my journey because it has not been an easy road but rewarding. I started my business with a low cost investment, blood, sweat & tears. But when you have a passion for something & someone on the side of you who believes you can do it you don’t mind the sweat & tears. What I’ve learned on this journey is to be patient because timing is everything, be consistent with marketing strategies, engage with your target audience and have fun along the way. Since a young girl I have always loved to be creative and entertain so I am constantly exploring new ideas and keeping up with the trends to maintain longevity in this industry. And I believe there’s always a reason to celebrate so I encourage my guests to enjoy the moment and create lasting memories for any occasion.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Ok SO! I am a Wine & Margarita girl and I love good food, singing and dancing (that’s how I came up with the name Party & A Bottle) so a week of fun with my BFF Sharon would consist of us exploring the vineyard and sampling LOTS of wine at Chateau Elan, Definitely would do breakfast at Thumbs Up Diner ( best French Toast EVER made), on a chill day I would take her to Massage Heights in Dectaur for a massage and lunch at Louisiana Bistreaux, She loves history so I would definitely take her to the MLK Center. We would try ti find an outdoor Old School R&B concert where we could set up one of my picnic table settings and enjoy food and Wine while we sing and dance all night. For more fun maybe go to Sips & Strokes for a sip and paint session of head over to LIPS Atl for a night of dinner and entertainment. And last but not least she couldn’t leave here without us hitting up La Fiesta Mexican Restaurant for some food & some good ole Margaritas Margaritas!! LOL

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My daughter has played a GIANT role in the success of my business. She encouraged me to feel confident in making a hard decision to explore a career change after running another business for over 10 years. She knows my creative side well because she is a creative herself and she believed that I could do it with no doubt. Having her by my side and watching her thrive in her business keeps me focus, determined and excited for what’s to come.
