We had the good fortune of connecting with Ereyemi Medinat and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ereyemi, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
Growing up in a family were they believe the work of a girl is house chore is horribly🤦 and being the only girl of the family am loads with lots of work from cleaning, washing, cooking mobbing etc and most especially peeling beans for akara, moi moi and other beans related and picking cook beans is really stressful for, I remember I do cry when peeling and picking beans bcoz it somehow stress full This crying/grumbling when peeling/peeling beans continue still I was (16) cos then I was just 12 to 13years..when I was (16) I started looking for remedy on how to make picking/peeling beans easy for me, we are d type that do bulk foodstuff buying eg bag of rice, half bag of white beans (peeling), half bag of oloyin (cooking) etc, then a tot come to my mind one afternoon (I just back from market to buy foodstuff coz it month end) I went inside to bring d half bag of oloyin 7 paints rubber which is about (25kg) It took me just 24hours to neatly pick it then, the following week a thought of peeling and sun drying beans during my leisure time came to my mind but I was afraid to start with alhaji (dad) beans bcoz of d fear of it not coming out well and he will beat d hell out of me🤣 I summon courage and start with half paint peeling then I Sun dry and cover it with net coz of flys etc then I upgrade to peeling 7paints of beans🤷♀️ and I Sun dry and keep inside big paint bucket, NB: it stays 5month without lossing same with beans flour, I summon courage to venture into d business thou not with a brand name and I later brand it with d brand name ayinke foods in 2019 coz ayinke is the name my dad call me when it time to prepare any beans related meal
