Meet LiiDa T | Jell-O Shot Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with LiiDa T and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi LiiDa, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Having my own business has always been a dream but I wasn’t sure what the business should be? I wasn’t sure if I wanted to follow what was popular or do something different and unique. I just knew whatever I decided, it had to be a reflection of me and something I connected with it. During the pandemic, I made jell-o shots a few times to either have in the house or take to an event and they were well received each time. One day my brother said to me, “Why don’t you sell these?” I replied, “Really? Do you think people would buy them?” He said yes then I asked a few friends and they agreed. Shortly after, LiiDa’s Shot Creations was born. This business is just what I wanted, it’s fun and creative. By starting LiiDa’s Shot Creations, my creativity just flows and I’m always excited to share the shots with others.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My 9-to-5 job is a Project Manager for a non-profit agency which helps adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The agency provides housing, education, clinical and recreational services. I started working there in 2013 just after college. I held other positions until 2018 when I was promoted to Project Manager. In this role, I developed a strong liking to Project Management as it wasn’t an area I ever thought to explore. Being a Project Manager wasn’t my career goal but over time, it has become an area that I enjoy and learned a lot from. I’m most excited that in 2021, I passed the PMP exam and am now a certified Project Management Professional. This has been a goal since 2018 and I’m happy to finally accomplish it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Brooklyn Bridge Park, Bryant Park/Times Square, 5BarKaraoke, Hudson Yards, Burger & Lobster NYC, Coney Island, Brooklyn Botanical Garden, Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), Bronx Zoo, Sea Thai in Williamsburg and West Bar & Lounge in Queens

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Much of the growth and success of Liida’s Shot Creations is due to friends, family and my business partner. My friends and family have supported by spreading the word, placing orders, recommending new flavors and products among other things. But my business partner has the business mind. He’s shared his expertise with marketing, branding, events to attend and much more. LiiDa’s Shot Creations takes up most of our conversations as we discuss social media content, inventory, supplies, finances, etc. He’s truly been an crucial part of LiiDa’s Shot Creations and I’m lucky to have his support and encouragement. Also, special shoutout to my mom for letting me take over the fridge with jell-o shots
