We had the good fortune of connecting with Lydia & Kam Campbell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lydia & Kam, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
Using the old skool family values My deceased father instilled in me… keeping his legacy going by serving . #SundayDinner everyday on the food truck. Now a days gathering on Sundays Serving Old Skool Meals is a thing of the past. So we make sure that Daily we serve 4 Soulful Staples…. MacAttack,Candied yams, potato Salad, greenbeans, cabbage and greens mix.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What sets us apart from other Food Trucks is that we are the ONLY ,MARRIED,BLACK FEMALE OWNED FoodTruck in the area. this a male dominated industry , and we have taken over the city With our delicious unique food, and amazing customer service. It was not easy at all our food brought to much traffic to parking lots , the lines were long , and unheard of for this area. We kept getting kicked off of properties bc of safety issues due to the long lines, constantly running out of food, we were not able to keep up with the demand. We closed our window for about 2 months and came back stronger than ever.We overcame those challenges and long lines with online ordering and. We are the only FoodTruck with drive up service available. Place your order online and drive up to get your order. We have learned a plethora of lessons along the way, including how important it is to stay consistent, and grounded.

We would like the world to know that you can achieve your goals and dreams if you stay focused on the vision ahead.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If our best friends were visiting from out of the area, of course we would cook Clebos Concessions and Cleveland’s Concessions for them everyday. However We love supporting our very own customers that are small business owners. For coffee and pastries we would take them to our mentor Anne Danners Bakery in Douglasville, Iced and Topped Bakery.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I absolutely would like to recognize my business partner ,my Wife Kam. We built this Brand and Business together. She has stood by my side every step of the way, she has worn many hats , from personal assistant, prep cook, delivery driver, accountant, mentor. She encourages me to keep going . She over sees quality control, presentation, marketing, menu items, pricing. And booking. She plays a huge role in this business. I can not take all of the credit for the success of it.
