We had the good fortune of connecting with Tashara Jackson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tashara, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The process behind starting my business was I love making women feel empowered and beautiful… it’s the confidence for me. I saw a green light in my head and decided that I’m going to do this and this is my baby and I will stick beside it no matter what.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart is that I am an ARTIST I don’t have a category I don’t fall under a certain genre like music. I am a creative and that’s just what I do. I went to school for Visual Arts (I’m an illustrator) so what sets me apart is being able to use those skills and techniques from drawing, painting etc. and apply it to my makeup routine for a client. I am most proud of my growth as a business woman and my persistence because you have to be in this industry. I love that no matter what I KEEP GOING! I may slow down but I never quit when it comes to my baby (business). I overcame a lot of challenges by talking to the people that believe in me in talking to myself about where I want to be, the woman I want to become, and the life I have envisioned for myself. A lesson that I have learned along the way is that I should never compare myself to someone else because comparison is the theft of joy my journey is not going to be the same as anyone else and that the market may be oversaturated but it does not have ME and no one cane be that ever. I would like the world to know that my brand is not just about looking “cute” this brand has a personal sense of me in it. My brand and platform is to create an environment mentally and physically where you can be beautiful and feel it as well. My brand is here to incorporate two things I love and share that with world along with my journey.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I have been doing a little research about fun things to do in Atlanta and I’ve seen a few things I haven’t tried all but here goes nothing. I would do brunch at this restaurant called Toast near Lenox. Then I would like to go to the Painted Duck located in Downtown Atlanta I tried it once and it’s really challenging but fun or iFly that would be something new I’m itching to do on my list. I love aesthetics so I would like to do drinks at this new place called Illuminarium.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to extend a special shout out to my friends and family. As cliché as it sounds I have to be honest they have my back. They see potential in me even when I’m too critical of myself and too blind to see it at times. When the doubters say no they say yes when I say no they say yes. They tend to push me into that uncomfortable state which is completely understandable and necessary. This is definitely a thank you because I’m watching things not only I but they manifested for me come into play.
