Hi Scot, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Be yourself. Don’t shy away from being goofy and authentic. Social media has been key to my success and brand. It takes a lot of work to manage social media profiles, but it has advanced my professional career tremendously. I strive to post accurate weather information while also engaging with a wide audience through creative and often humorous content.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a Professional Broadcast Meteorologist, I started off my television career on the brink of Facebook Live. I hopped on the trend, and my following went from 0 in 2016 to nearly 500,000 followers on TikTok, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram in 2021. My social media profiles and engagement with my audience sets me apart. My brand is about accurate, trusted weather information while also providing culture, humor and personal life into my brand. I love connecting with my followers and making social media a fun platform.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m brand new to Atlanta! I need your recommendations! Foodies, please add me on Instagram and let me know the good spots please!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My parents. They have always been my biggest cheerleaders. My mom and dad are always the first people I call with news regarding any success or downfalls in my life, and I wouldn’t be here without their loving support. They encouraged me to reach my dreams of being a television meteorologist and their confidence in my skillsets means the world. They will always shoot me straight, bad or good, HA!
