We had the good fortune of connecting with Chanc’e Watson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chanc’e, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I’ve had a passion for music ever since the age of 4. Growing up in church and singing in the choir showed me how powerful music can positively impact a person’s life. I wholeheartedly believe that music is the universal language that can allow anyone to communicate their thoughts and emotions to one another, despite their cultural or geographical background. I served in the United States Army for 5 years as an active duty service member, and decided to get out to follow my dreams of creating music full time.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My name is Emmandriel and I am an American singer who creates a blended style of Hip-Hop and dark/contemporary R&B music. I wanted to build a career doing something that I had an undying passion for – so I started writing and recording music right before getting out of the U.S. Army in 2019. I’ve only been writing, recording, and producing music for a little over a year and a half, and it most definitely has been a challenge stepping into the world of music, or even the entertainment industry as a whole. Immediately at the beginning of my career, after I put out my first couple solo tracks on all music streaming platforms, I knew that my passion for music by itself wasn’t going to bring me success, I had to learn everything there is to learn about music as a business as well as becoming self sufficient all across the board; from recording my own songs, mixing my own songs, marketing my own music, building myself up as a brand, and even learning how to be profitable and get the most Return On Investment from creating and releasing a quality project. I had to seek the knowledge and educate myself to make sure I didn’t drown in the overly-saturated industry of artists.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
A few of my favorite places in Atlanta that I love to relax at and spend time with friends and family includes: Top Golf, Nitro Zone (indoor fun park), Stone Mountain Park, and the Chattahoochee Food Works (which for the record has an incredibly chill vibe and atmosphere to it, along with a lot of different food and dessert restaurants to choose from)

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a shout-out to three people that not only supported me in my music journey since day one, but also believed in me and helped shape the mindset to stop at absolutely nothing from accomplishing my dreams and aspirations. My high school best friend Christopher Masenburge, my musical engineer and producer Earl Armstrong Jr., and my videographer and creative director Joshua McCarty.
