We had the good fortune of connecting with Taban Cosmos and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Taban, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
As a child, I always made things and sold them to my friends. This was something I enjoyed doing over and over. Following my move to the US, I imagined doing the same thing but at a larger scale. The layoff from my previous job gave me the opportunity to fully dive into the startup we had just begun months earlier.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The Guide App is designed to help businesses onboard and train their employees through 90-second bite-sized videos. Cosmos Innovation helps startups build MVPs in a short period of time. Transparency is the key to helping founders build better products.

Starting a business is not an easy task. Building a portfolio of products can be difficult, especially for a software company. Maintaining the momentum can be challenging as well. Despite the difficulties, I have continued building up.

A very important lesson I learned was to just get started and build very quickly. We don’t have the luxury of taking our time when starting a business.

I’m excited to see what the future holds for remote learning and remote work. In my industry, getting knowledge quickly is critical.

Our goal is to build great solutions to keep impacting our world.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Usually, when friends come over, I take them to downtown Kirkland by the waterfront, going on short hikes around some WA beautiful mountain hikes.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
To my parents who died when I was still a young child, I dedicate my work. I owe them that. I couldn’t do what I do without them. Everything I needed to keep living, building, and helping others was taught to me.
