We had the good fortune of connecting with Danielle Marshall and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Danielle, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process was really simple, I wanted to do something different that I loved doing. I love to create/design things. I sat down and said I’m gonna do a service that I’m having a hard time finding someone to do for me and that’s when Patched by Peetie was born!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m a Public Servant who has been on my job a little over 18 years. It’s very demanding and Male dominated field. It was very rough being a young black woman trying to rise within the department without and “friends” or knowing anyone there. I worked hard took the worst assignments and never complained, that is what finally got me recognized, never complaining. My career has taught me to never work harder for someone else’s dream than your own! I want the world to know about me and my brand is that with focus and dedication you can do it all. Never give up and keep pushing because you never know who’s watching you!!!!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The Midtown area is always the place to go! All the shops, bars and restaurants you can imagine are there! I definitely get excited about the museum’s, and landmarks, its shows the culture and diversity of the area.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My Sistafriend Kanitra Davis, she has motivated and pushed me in ways she will never know!!!
