For the longest time, I have felt like an underdog in some way, feeling like I had to prove my worth to sit at the table. From being that young girl in middle school who wanted so badly to be accepted by the “cool kids” to a young adult navigating the developing stages of my career, I’ve always wondered why I giving up has never been an option no matter how many times I have failed to reach certain goals or let self doubt creep in. I pondered this question for several days only to realize that I am in the very thick of this moment. It is still crazy to me how what started as a Facebook post has blossomed into a beautiful experience that I get to share with others. So I’ve wrestled with this question on numerous occasions. When I’m in the moment of questioning whether to give up or push through, it brings a pause and makes me ask myself a question that a good friend often asks me, “Have you completed the assignment?” So far for me that answer to that question has been “No, I have not.” So I acknowledge the feeling, reevaluate or seek counsel ( if necessary) and I commit to pressing forward. There’s someone out there that needs what I have to offer. On the flip side, if you feel as though you have completed your assignment or it is becoming more of a chore you strongly dislike then it might be time to let it go or move on to the next venture.
