We had the good fortune of connecting with Zipporah Kapambwe and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Zipporah, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I was born in Zambia and my family came to the U.S shortly after I was born. My parents wanted to come to the United States for more opportunities in work and education. That impacted immensely because, as I was growing up, it was always in my mind to take advantage of this opportunity I’ve been given. I told myself I would never waste my talents and I wanted to make my family proud and honor the sacrifice my parents made leaving everything they knew to come here.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Brand photography is something that came about after being a photographer for over 10 years and finding myself working with a lot of female entrepreneurs. The energy and the creativity working together is what really sparked me to pivot & focus in that direction. Getting the chance to dream with other women and create the brand that they envision is an amazing process. Through that, I also started offering visual strategy sessions with women and also birthed my lifestyle brand Chapter Thirty-one a lifestyle brand for female entrepreneurs. My heart and love are to support and empower female entrepreneurs as they pursue their God-given purpose. I believe that God has given every one of us something special and it’s so amazing to see it become reality. It’s amazing to see women stepping out and realizing that they have so much more to offer and give the world. It’s always an honor when I get to be a part of that process in some way.
Was it an easy process? It definitely was not. A lot of growth has happened and continues to happen as I strive to provide the best that I can give. Overcoming challenges such as learning to create my own brand and so I can help others do the same. Learning how to be a 1 women team, while also having another job. Throughout all these challenges. I learned the power of taking advantage of your resources, seeking help through places like Fiverr and Upwork. Also, batch creating and setting routines and a set schedule to keep you consistent.
