We had the good fortune of connecting with Zac Gilbert and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Zac, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
Is there is something you ACTUALLY want more?… If you can’t find anything let that keep driving you.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a musician. I have been playing around the country (As FEAST IV EYES) based out of Atlanta for about 18 years. I had a decent amount of success early in my career. This led to many years in the middle trying to chase that feeling of admiration and commercial/financial accolades. There are so many personal issues that we all face in our lives every day/ year. It is really easy to give up… I have been victim to this myself. I took time off got a college degree… could not find something that could fill the void like music and art did for me ( at least in the corporate world). It was not easy but I decided in 2019 that I was going to go “ALL IN” quit my day job… and decided I would do whatever it took to make it music happen. I started a media Company “SKUNK APE MEDIA” (with my wife Erin). We do everything from graphic design/websites to SKUNK APE TEES making merch for families, businesses, and fellow artists. It has not been easy… and it still isn’t easy now, but we are pushing through to make the world a better place with music and art. I want the world to know that if you love something … I mean truly LOVE it surround yourself with it. Save your mind, you only have one. Try to enjoy your life, it might not be easy. Even if its difficult you might enjoy the struggle doing something that you actually do not mind.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to thank all the fans, friends, and Atlanta musicians. They inspire me and help me get through these trying times.
