We had the good fortune of connecting with Yusef Bellevue and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Yusef, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
The most important lessons that my business has taught me is that you truly have to love something to be the best at it. i’ve always been interested in video production and started out recording music videos for people around my local city. I decided to start photography after a while and I honestly didn’t have the most love for it. But after a while I started to see the value in it and now I am happy I get to create wonderful images for people and I’m still growing at it. countless hours of editing at first I thought I was doing something wrong and most of my free time was now gone because of it. until I had seen fellow photographers and others who have been in the gang for years speak about their work and I can see the detail that they put into it and knew that these people loved photography with all their heart. I did it but now I’m starting to cultivate my own love for it
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Every time I create some thing and look back on it I am proud that I was the one to create something so different and unique that no one will ever create again. It may not be the best ever created yet but I know it will always be one of a kind
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
some of my favorite spots in the city to hang is my room and the forum gym. I’m super simple
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to shout out God, Corey Wheeler, Ernest of TTSenre, Brandon of GUYxphoto, my mother, and myself. These are all the people helped me one way or another improve on my skills
