We had the good fortune of connecting with Wren Breen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Wren, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Community. I’ve found myself in the really lucky position of being immeshed in a scene of entrepreneurs, small business owners, other creatives, and just generally good people who support one another. I’m always getting tagged and referred by friends and clients who support my business and believe in my work. I’m very fortunate to be in the position I’m in!

What should our readers know about your business?
I like to think of myself as a graphic artist. I’m first and foremost a graphic designer, but I also create album and poster art, fine art, and music as well. I think what sets me apart from other designers is my artistic approach to design solutions. Art is expression whereas design is problem solving, but I think marrying the best of both approaches provides some uniquely interesting and creative solutions to the branding I produce. While I hope to forever learn, grow, evolve, and sharpen as an artist and designer I’m really excited about the level or execution I’ve gotten to. I feel a great amount of confidence in my craft and approach every project with a sense of determination, excitement, and assurance to the client that we’re going to end up with something they’re proud of.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There isn’t so much you can do in Atlanta during these Covid times, but I would probably take them to get coffee and vegan donuts at Revolution donuts for breakfast. Then we’d hit my favorite dog park, Oakhurst Dog Park in Decatur, with my pup Rita. Then for dinner, maybe grab a bite to go at Upbeet, or if it’s Monday, my friends’ unbelievably good vegan Cuban pop-up Happy Seed. I’ve been vegan for a little over a year now and it’s been so fun exploring Atlanta’s vibrant vegan food scene!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have so many people to thank and credit for my path in life, first and foremost, my mom, Teresa. She’s fostered and supported my artistic talents and endeavors for as long as I can remember, including putting me through high school and college where I learned and honed my trade. I have an incredible community of friends who keep me up and moving forward. I’ve worked with three amazing therapists over the last couple of years who have helped me learn some really powerful tools to cultivate presence, awareness, and self acceptance. I keep a steady rotation of podcasts on deck from some of my favorite teachers and personalities like Cory Allen, Tara Brach, Duncan Trussell, and Aubrey Marcus. I’m tapped into a beautiful music scene with some of my favorite bands like Umphrey’s McGee, Phish, New Mastersounds, Turkuaz, and so many more, many of who I’ve gotten the pleasure and privilege to work with. I know and follow so many amazing artists and graphic designers. I wouldn’t know where to begin with that one. DOGS! Especially my baby, Lovely Rita. It takes a community and connection to stay learning, inspired, and creative, and I’m very grateful for the life I’ve been given and cultivated.
