We had the good fortune of connecting with Willie Franks and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Willie, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Go Big or Go Home is a motto that I’ve taken to heart these past few years. Whether you’re a businessman/woman or a entrepreneur you have to bet on yourself. I personally believe that risk taking is a direct representation of the belief in yourself and your brand. The more risk you take the more confidence you have in achieving your goals. When you know that you are capable of achieving something then you minimize the risk because even if you fail you realize that you are more than capable of tackling it again and again.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
In my former life as i like to say i spent 15+ years as a social worker, working in several different areas such as healthcare, foster care, and long term care. During this time I experienced some of the most horrific situations that eventually took a toll on my mental health and i had to step away from the profession. If you have ever worked in the profession you’d understand how your life becomes consumed with other peoples problems and you will spend your life attempting to solve other peoples problems while your own life gets overlooked. Although working in this profession was very challenging, I gained a unique set of skills and that is being able to understand and reach people. This skill set had been very beneficial to my brand because it has helped me build a genuine relationship with my clients.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Being that I’m an authentic type of guy, I’d definitely plan all of our events to the authentic spots and eateries in town. Not knocking large food chains but i can go to different cities and states and get the same chicken sandwich or hamburger lol.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shoutout my father, Willie C. Franks Sr. He has been the most influential person in my life. He has always encouraged and empowered me to be great. He would always tell me that i was the best son in the world and hearing those words help me to understand that i could be whatever i put my mind to. He gave me a solid foundation to build upon which consisted of faith, love, respect, and hope. I keep a picture of him in my office and often look at it as a reminder that i come from greatness.
