We had the good fortune of connecting with Will Darden and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Will, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Honestly, I don’t know that I had much of a thought process behind starting my own business. I understood that I was miserable working a 9 to 5 and that I was ready for my life to change. I would never advise anyone to take the route that I did, which was randomly wake up one day and put in a 2 week notice. I had no strategy and backup plan and looking back now, I’m grateful that it worked out for me but there was no wisdom in my process. I knew that some people said that I was pretty good at photography and videography and that’s the path I chose to pursue.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
It takes a certain kind of person to will any amount of success into existence on a daily basis and being able to do that year after year makes me grateful. Nothing about owning a business is easy but perseverance and being able to adapt have been staples to my success. I think I am most proud of the individuals and businesses I’ve helped over the years realize their dreams and goals and being able to share that feeling of accomplishment with them is amazing.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am all for trying food and drinks at lesser known places, I am an experiences guy so I love places on the quieter side with an atmosphere that allows for conversation and the exchanging of ideas and knowledge sharing. Once all that’s done… we’re going skydiving. LOL!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I definitely wouldn’t be where I am today without the sacrifices and support of loved ones who helped me by allowing me to be the mess that I was at the start of this journey. I really didn’t have any guidance but they stood back and let me be me and figure out how to measure my steps and continue my path.
