Meet Wanda Micheal: Owner/Operator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Wanda Micheal and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Wanda, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I have two businesses and one caterers to adults, and the other caterers to children. I love helping others, so I knew becoming an entrepreneur was the right decision for me. Mobile Music And Education For Kids is a nonprofit organization committed to educating the whole child through music, fitness, and creative activities. There are too many children having to medicated to learn, so I designed a program that would teach children in a way that they respond to, and have lots of fun while learning. Events And Designs By Wanda, LLC is decorating and event planning company located in Garner, NC. Upon doing my research. I noticed that there were very few event planning companies that employed skilled decorators and florist. Our rates are extremely affordable, and we provide the best level of service possible. We save our clients thousands of dollars by cutting out the middle man.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a saxophonist, decorator, and a early childhood educator. My skill level has blessed me with the opportunity to own and operate two successful businesses and publish an educational game in a book. The thing I enjoy most is helping others, so decorating, teaching, and performing for others is the most important part of my career. Being an entrepreneur in this area has its challenges, but it is all worth it when you can make someone else dreams come true. Sharing my work on social media has taken me to another level and I am humbled by the love and support I have gotten from friends, family members, followers and clients. I would like the world to know that you should always follow your dreams because you never know just how far they will take you.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First I would give them the history of Raleigh and why we are the capital city. Next I would take them downtown to see the stature of Sir Walter Raleigh. Then I would take them to Ruth’s Chris for a delicious steak. We would probably hang out in downtown Raleigh, but I would love to visit a couple of museums. They say we have the best barbecue in the Carolinas, so I would take them to City Barbecue in White Oak. I can’t let them leave town without hanging out at my house and stopping by to visit my mom.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My daughter Ashley Janelle is my graphic designer and photographer. Husband Kevin Micheal is my drummer, audiovisual technician and disc jockey.
