Meet Wade Lincoln: Fine artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Wade Lincoln and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Wade, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
I think that art (and the making of art) is essential to our lives. It can inspire individuals and communities… it can enhance personal and public property… it can be calming and reassuring… it can be provocative …it can foster relationships… it can provide income… it can provide relaxation and a sense of accomplishment. Studios, galleries, and museums are often the cultural center of a community.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a self taught fine artist who paints in two distinct styles… oil on canvas realism and acrylic on canvas representational pop. I’ve always created. I’ve been a songwriter and musician, a craftsman and cabinet maker, and a photographer and author. All of my artistic endeavors inform and influence all of my art. My words, my music, my furniture, my photos, and my paintings all are pretty straightforward and without gimmickry. I see it as a practical fusion!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Okay… I have a home in Stone Mountain and also on Tybee Island, I used to have a gallery in Decatur, and now am affiliated with a gallery in Marietta, so… we hit downtown Decatur for any number of great drinking and dining options, and then we head to Marietta and its beautiful square and take in the galleries (I’m with North Park Gallery) and then we head to Savannah and the beach (where we relax with every hour happy hour)!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shoutout to my wife, Laura, who many years ago said “okay, let’s go” when I told her I wanted to move to Nashville (from Vermont, with our 2 little kids) and become a songwriter. She has provided encouragement, income, and security!
