Hi Veronica Ilenre and Bethel Habte, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Veronica: Starting a nanny agency was something that had always lingered in the back of my mind, but I imagined it happening further down the road. After working as a nanny for over 12 years, I wanted to create something that reflects the care and heart I’ve poured into my nannying career. I also began craving more flexibility and balance especially as an actor. Acting is a huge part of who I am, and building a business that supports both my creativity and my commitment to helping families just made sense.

I wanted families and nannies to feel like they’d found their perfect match, that magical, meant-to-be kind of connection. I shared the idea with my brilliant best friend and amazing business partner Bethel , and she was immediately on board. That’s how Blossom Safe Care Company came to life.

Bethel: When my best friend and business partner, the ever talented and creative Veronica Ilenre, approached me about her desire to bring her brainchild, Blossom Safe Care Company, to life, I was immediately on board! As a former nanny and someone who has worked closely with families for years, I knew the emotional weight of both finding the right caregiver and being the right caregiver, it can be an incredibly difficult journey for both families and nannies. I wanted to help create something that didn’t just connect people, but truly supported them with resources, structure, and respect for both sides of the relationship.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are a nanny placement agency connecting families with fully vetted, experienced nannies. What truly sets us apart is our thoughtful approach. We use a personality profile carefully curated by Bethel, who is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), along with a detailed family and nanny intake process. This helps us deeply understand what both families and nannies are looking for to make sure every match feels just right.

We also offer Blossom SafeChecks, a variety of background checks and screening packages to help families feel confident in their caregiver choices. Plus, with every placement package, families receive a year-long subscription to our partner ATL Sitter for reliable backup care.

We’re really proud of what we’ve built so far and excited about what’s ahead. We’re currently developing new programming and planning to host a nanny informational event later this summer. Our goal is to connect even more families with the care they deserve while providing nannies with the tools they need to feel empowered in their careers

Getting to this point has taken a lot of hard work, planning, and persistence. It hasn’t always been easy, but having a strong friendship has made all the difference. The challenges of running a business have stretched us, especially learning new skills like marketing and social media, and stepping outside our comfort zones. We overcame those challenges together, with patience and brainstorming together.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting Atlanta and I wanted to show them the best time ever, here’s where we’d go:

Vickery Creek Trail
This trail is gorgeous, lots of trees, fresh air, and a really pretty waterfall. It’s an easy walk that feels like a little nature escape right near the city. Perfect place to hang out and leave feeling refreshed.

The Flying Biscuit
You have to try The Flying Biscuit if you’re here! The breakfast is delicious and the vibe is super cozy. It’s a great place to start the day the day with some good conversation.

Local Film Festival or Play
Atlanta has tons of local plays and film festivals that are always fun to check out. It’s cool to see what local artists are creating and support the creative community. Plus, it’s a fun way to spend an evening doing something different.

Local Art Shows
There are always art shows happening around town where you can see cool work from local artists. We love wandering through them and finding new favorites or little treasures. It’s a great way to soak in Atlanta’s artsy side.

Revolution Donuts
If you want an AMAZING donut, Revolution Donuts is where it’s at. Their flavors are creative and everything tastes fresh.

El Taco Veloz
For amazing tacos and burritos: El Taco Veloz. It’s casual, quick, authentic and always hits the spot.

The Frisky Whisker
If you love cats and lo- fi music, The Frisky Whisker is so fun. Cats are roaming everywhere, and the vibes are very chill. It’s the perfect place to relax and hang with some furry friends.

Ground and Pound Coffee
Ground and Pound is a go-to coffee spot. The coffee is great, and it’s a super cozy place to sit down, catch up, or get some reading done. Feels really welcoming and low-key.

An Escape Room
These are so much fun, there are a bunch of locations all around Atlanta. You an work together to solve puzzles and crack codes!

Fuji Ya
If you want hibachi, Fuji Ya is the best!!

Beltline
The Beltline is awesome. You can walk, grab coffee, get some food, and just soak up the city vibes. It’s the perfect spot to spend a few hours outside whether you want to relax or get moving. Tons of things to do and see all in one place.
