We had the good fortune of connecting with Tyler Sarter and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tyler, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
My answer would be to always keep going! It’s important when you run into obstacles in your business that you always seek new information that will allow you to work smarter and not harder. The more you know the more you can accomplish. My mentor said something that really has always stuck with me. “Being an entrepreneur is like being in the ring with Muhammad Ali, Your going to take some hits that you might not want to get up from, BUT YOU HAVE TO GET UP AND KEEP FIGHTING.

 

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
PromiseLand Realty LLC is a full service real estate investing firm. The firm was officially established in 2015 so we are celebrating 5 years in business. Recently we released an e-book and audio book on the basics of getting started in real estate investing. Looking down the line into 2021 we are working on a few affordable housing developments in Atlanta and Detroit so we are VERY excited about that. In entrepreneurship you will always have challenges it comes with the territory, but the rewards are well worth it. Never let a win get to your head or a loss get to your heart, stay level headed and consistent and things will work in your favor. Freedom is worth the price.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When I’m in Atlanta usually I’m working at the Gathering spot during the day that’s one of my favorite places to network and eat a good meal, they have really dope events as well. For the weekend brunch move definitely Ms. Icey’s in Decatur or Rays on the river on the north side. And when we wanna step out at night Agency Socialthèque in Buckhead or Brklyn Kitchen & Lounge Downtown.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to shoutout the city of Detroit. I feel like being from the city of Detroit has played a major role in the success of my business. Detroit just has that never say die attitude, go and get it on your own mentality. I watched my father operate his Dental practice for over 30 years in the heart of the city, I studied other successful businessmen and took a little bit of game from each of them. There’s a kid in Detroit right now who needs me to become successful so that I can reach back and show him or her the way.
